Price is outstanding for a 5 gallon jug. I needed this for kerosene. I removed the white filter from inside because i'm going to use a Fuel Transfer Pump Siphon. So i won't need to struggle with the safety lock or spout. I will also make less trips to the gas station because i have a 5 gallon jug, finally.
Great great I need to carry Kerosene back from the gas station and this was what I need for my Kerosene heater to heat my house this winter and what a great buy on sale right now
I've been putting off buying a much-needed new kerosene can because of the prices, but I was lucky to find this one on sale. It's as good of quality as any other can I've had, and I love the nozzle style.
There's a built-in safety that you have to use your thumb to push down in order for the fuels to come out which is a great safety feature. But there's no handle on the bottom so it's hard to hold 5 gallons of fuel up while pressing it with the bottom, and trying to hold onto a handle. it's a great jug though. Very thick.
This can works for what I need but the push button spout is a thumb killer. They should have built the spout with a lighter spring to make it easier to use but it works.
I'm not a fan of the netting inside the spout. I'm going to end up cutting that out to use a siphon with my kerosene heater. Otherwise, great product.
I like the special feature on the can that will stop it from any spillovers during travel. but the nozzle does not fit inside my kerosene heater so I have to use it with a funnel. other than that I really like it so I will be keeping it.
The slim shape is great for storage and the cans work great IF you do not need to pour fuel from them. The other plus to them is that the built in filters are a fabric material and much easier to remove than the hard plastic filters in other brands. However, if you need to pour fuel from the can these aren't great. They are far more likely to leak while pouring than other brands and the button on the nozzle is unnecessarily difficult both to push in initially and to keep held in as needed for fuel to flow through the pour nozzle. The shape of the cans also makes it more awkward to hold the cans to pour fuel out. If you intend to remove the filter and use a siphon pump, then these cans are perfectly good easy to use, and easy to store. So, they are good as long as you don't need to use the pour spout, but pretty bad if you do need to use the pour spout. The filters are very easily removed by grabbing the filter material with needle nose pliers, pulling it up through the can opening and cutting the filter with scissors in any spots it doesn't just pull off by tugging at it with the pliers. Doing this makes it MUCH easier to fill at the pump and allows the use of a siphon pump to extract the fuel when you're ready to use it.
Price of this kerosene can was good. It comes with a spout that is effectively unusable to pour kerosene with. Additionally, when tilting to can to pour, there is no handle or grip to support the can while pouring. There is a very small, inadequate finger slot to support the can. Finger fatigue sets in almost immediately when holding a 35 lb can to pour. Be aware of this before purchasing this can.
Completely faulty design. The spring loaded release you have to hold down is difficult in the cold and it leaks through that mechanism. I got kerosene all down my arm. Never had spills with the old hose only. Terrible engineering.
