Very high-pitched very easy to install highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a low cost, but highly effective deterrent entry system. This would be a way to go.
Installation was easy. We put them on three doors and two windows, and both the chime and the alarm work well. Will probably purchase more. In the first picture on front door, I had to mount it on a small block of wood to bring the alarm to the height of the door frame. I used two small screws to secure wood block to door. I also place a sticky note under it saying ALARM ON when I turn on the alarm, just as a reminder to myself. Otherwise, I leave it on Chime.
Great lil device @ $1 a piece.
In our new apartment, my toddler kept wanting to explore the hall and elevator. Since my lease wouldn't allow me to install a deadbolt or another type of lock higher on the door out of his reach, I settled for an alarm. This has been wonderful. It's SOOOO loud. It can wake me from a dead sleep and hurts my ears if it goes off when I'm next to it. It actually startles my son so much when it goes off that he closes the door and runs off. Problem solved! I've recommended it to some other parents who are having a similar problem. We use the chime setting, rather than the alarm.
This item is awesome! I bought for my elderly mother that has dementia and tries to escape. I installed on my front door and at night switch it on. The chime is loud enough to alert you when the door is opened; if you're in a room near by. Otherwise, if you're in a room further away in the house the alarm is VERY loud and will let you know if someone is exiting or trying to get in!! Easy install with self sticking adhesive included!
Definitely can hear it. I used on my sliding door in my in home daycare. Definitely gives me a feeling of security.
Easy to install
I am still trying figiure these things out...Once i get them figiured out then maybe i will give it a higher rating...The instructions are not easy for me to understand either...i am leaving my review at this...Right now i don't think too highly of these things...
This is a very small item. 2 inches x 1.5 inches. Can't return thru Walmart; must contact Seller. Not worth returning - just want to give a Heads Up to others about the size.
The GE alarm that you see pictured is NOT the alarm that you get. The alarm with the round top would be the correct alarm, but they give you the new GE alarms with the square top. (that comes in two packs) I ordered online then went to pick up in store. They were incorrect. So I went to the section and looked and they were also incorrect. The older square round top alarms have the ON/OFF switch concealed, which is also says in the walmart description for the alarm. The alarm you get is the on off switch is NOT concealed but right smack dab on the side of the alarm so a thief can EASILY turn it off. Save your money and spend a couple extra bucks for the GE round top alarms with the concealed on off switch.
