Hope we never need to use this, but have it just in case and it is required on our boat. The main difference I could tell from a regular extinguisher and this one for marine/boat use, was the METAL handle so that it won't carried around water. I would recommend taking the extinguisher out of the package to look at the date/YEARS stamped on the bottom of the extinguisher, as I believe they expire in six years from the year/date stamped.
Not for in the car. I pictured us putting out a fire in a car on the road. You can't keep this IN the car. In an accident, it would fly up and kill you. It is like a lead pipe. If kept in the trunk, you couldn't get it in time. It is for a location where cars are worked on, it is to be mounted on a wall.
this item is as described and came on time with the food I ordered . I'm grateful for that but my other orders have been left on my landlord's doorstep and it's not the address I gave them for mine
I have a fire extinguisher sitting in my kitchen that I bought about 1973. It's a halon unit, no longer sold, the pressure gauge shows a full charge %26 I've never had the need to discharge it. If that need arises, I assume it will work. This fire extinguisher is in my car's trunk %26 the need to use it has not arisen %26 the pressure gauge shows a full charge, so I can only presume it will work if the need arises. In my youth, long long ago, the need did arise for a similar fire extinguisher, it put the fire out, %26 it was not rechargeable. So I presume this one also is good for one fire event.
Better price than boat stores and current date on bottom. They have to be less than 10 years old for coast guard and I want to buy a my new one
Well I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet but it looks good and I always feel comfortable buying whatever I need at my local Walmart store
Good fire extinguisher and price. I was checking my boat over. Getting ready for summer. Sure enough my old extinguisher showed 🙄 boarder line on the guage.
Replacing old extinguisher on boat … haven't had to use it and hope to never have to. Better to be safe and not sorry.
The extinguisher was fine but the mounting bracket leaves a bit to be desired. I'm afraid it might come out of the bracket when hitting waves.
fire extinguisher is very good. I'll try it in a few months and buy this before.Thank you very much.
