We love this ravioli with a homemade creamy Tuscan sauce, a "garlicky sun-dried tomato cream sauce topped with baby spinach, basil, and parmesan cheese". Add salad and bread for a complete meal that is quick and EZ yet worthy of date night at a quality restaurant. This product is part of our regular rotation.
I was surprised to find authentic Italian sausage inside. This product has always delivered in taste. The ravioli easily floats to the top of the pot while cooking. You may want to cook them a couple minutes longer than the directions for a softer texture.
Like everything else, the portion size does not meet today's standards. It's enough for two adults and that's it. And there's not enough rice so plan on making your own rice as well as a side to go along with your tiny enchiladas, but the taste is good. Just don't expect for it to be a full meal is what I'm saying.
I just grabbed these wanting a quick but relatively clean meal after a long day. They were fully cooked and on my plate in 10 minutes and tasted very good using the simple instructions and recommendations on the back of the bag. All of Rana stuff I've tried has been good so no real surprise there!
For a quick MEAL ON THE GO, that tastes great, fills you up, RANA bags of frozen RAVIOLI is the answer! Microwaveable in 1.5 minutes (90 seconds) from frozen to perfectly tender. On cold wintry mornings, when my pets are up way too early, i put 6 or 7 RAVIOLI into a bowl and pop it into the microwave for 90 seconds. No need to thaw, this is called "INSTANT" at my house. Finish with a half pat of butter or less, pepper and just a smidgen of salt. I Have a cup of tea, LADY GREY WITH LEMON, THE RAVIOLI IS STUFFED TO PERFECTION, FILLS ME UP, AND I AM READY TO GO! IF THE AIR IS FRIGID OR RAINY, AFTER A BIT I WILL POP 3 JIMMY DEAN SAUSAGES INTO THE MICROVAVE ON A PAPER PLATE WITH A LOOSE PAPER TOWEL TO COVER, HEAT FOR ONE MINUTE (60 SECONDS) THESE LITTLE TASTY SAUSAGES COME OUT PERFECTLY COOKED, SLIGHTLY CRISPY; THE 3 OF THEM MAKE A SUPER FAST ONE SLICE OF RAISIN CINNAMON BREAD FOLDOVER SANDWICH! ENOUGH ENERGY FOR A LONG MORNING OF ANYTHING YOU WISH TO DO IN ANY KIND OF WEATHER! A.M.PROTEIN!
This frozen ravioli makes for an easy, quick meal. I keep the sausage and cheese varieties on hand and frequently mix the two for a meat, cheese experience. Sauce is always in the pantry and I try to keep fresh parm, if possible on hand, otherwise what's in a jar. Texas toast and a salad make for a complete meal.
Giovanni Ravioli is a quick tasty dinner option. I made with a homemade garlic Parmesan sauce to top. Very simple directions to cook. Could even be a yummy side dish with a salad. My taste for the sausage seemed a bit off as it seemed more like a chicken sausage or a very light white meat sausage. Maybe my tasters are off - but I did not get the Italian sausage taste I was hoping for in the ravioli. Overall, I would recommend and even purchase a different flavor.
Disappointment! Ravioli should have filling that is homogeneous. You bite into the lovely cheese or meat filling and know what it is. This "sausage" ravioli is small balls of sausage or meat, along with filler all around it (cheese? breadcrumb mixture? IDK?). Never before have I had any ravioli anywhere that was like this. Balls of the sausage stuff, looking at a cooked ravioli, it was actually bumpy. Pass on this, I thought it would be an upgrade from Walmart brand, and NOPE, yuck.
They've reduced the amount you get in each bag, while the price has continued to increase. And yet they still advertise this bag as “Family Size”. Don't be misled. This is only enough for 2 people. The quality was horrible. Most of the ravioli busted open during boiling and the quality of ingredients inside the ravioli has significantly decreased. The sausage was flavorless and tasted cheap. The cheese on the inside had no flavor.
I had been lookng for meat ravoli for a long time and all I could find was cheese filled. This product caught my eye so I thought I would try it out. Highly disappointed.
