Safest tea kettle to heat water. Best alternative then metal china made kettles. Can not find anything safer. Better then the metal or plastic $30-$200 tea kettles on the market. I drink a lot of tea and researched everywhere and could not find anything i felt safe to use to heat water. The handle gets warm but not hot. Just position the kettle handle away from the heating element of your stove. I use an electric stove. Instead of using the plastic lid it came with, I use a mini glass custard dish as the lid. Also sold at Walmart stores for under $2. See photos. Does not get hot just a little warm. Grab it around the top of the dish rim. Best purchase ever. I love making/drinking tea and want to continue being healthy by using safe kitchenware.

I love these glass stove top kettles. I've had many over the years. They usually end up getting broken after about a year or two. I love their clear glass look and they are made of tampered glass. Good for tea, milk tea or coffee. They are a great addition. I usually order them from Amazon but this time I decided to go with Walmart because of the price difference. I ordered two and both came broken. It was poorly packaged. No individual wrapping or boxing. They just threw them in one big box and one arrived with its top cut off and the other with a crack at the top. I started a return and the W app gave me an option to replace them so I've opted for that and I'm hoping these won't break too.

Using to make Yerbe Mate in refrig. I love the shape, how it feels in my hands. The lid is a bit cumbersome as must remove to pour. I tried on my electric range using the wire heat disperser and didn’t feel totally okay with the way it sat on the burner. So, I decided to use it for cold tea, put Yerba mate in cold water in fridge and also when made this way, less bitterness from teas. The whistle I wouldn’t depend on from another room but a cool feature. I originally bought it to boil water for my French press to make coffee. Because right now I’m just boiling it in a stainless steel pan. And it tends to get all over the place. I may try buying another one and using it for this purpose only because I think it’s healthier to boil hot water in this, type of glass versus the stainless that I’m using, which probably has all kinds of heavy metals.

It says 12 cups in description but in fact it's only 48 oz max, that is 6 US cups, twice smaller. Why don't they write 48 oz in description? Also you can only use it on medium heat, that would take it too long for me. I'm returning it

I have been using these past almost 5 years. This time after using it for a month when I was cleaning it, the top glass part just fell out. See the image. I am very disappointed with the quality or may be it was a defective piece.

I used it on a propane stove, and it worked great. The trivet that it comes with for electric stove tops WILL BURN. I used it one time and I noticed a slight discoloration. I had the heat on medium low. The second time I used it it was smoking, turned black, and my water was not boiling at all. The water was cold when I took it off of the stove. The metal trivet these come with are not good for use, he will have to buy one from another company.

Very disappointed, I only had the pot for around 5 months and before it reached a full boil the bottom of the pot completely cracked off spilling water all over the stove, floor, and countertop.

I worried the kettle may be fragile and I was right. The kettle cracked after only a few uses despite attempting to use it with care. I wouldn’t recommend it based upon my experience.

Because when it arrived one was broken plus it wasn't marked fragile glass nothing it was just put in a box it should've been wrapped in styrofoam and bubble wrap

I got the 12-Cup Glass Stove Top Whistling Tea Kettle at the end of April and was very happy with it until yesterday. I was using it every day to brew tea. I did not have a problem with the plastic lid as other customers have noted. I always used it as recommended and over medium heat. Unfortunately, yesterday while heating up the water to make tea, I heard a crack and as I tried to move it to find out what happened, the bottom detached completely and all the hot water spilled over the range, floor, etc. Fortunately, I was not burnt. I love the design and the price, but based on this experience, I will not be able to give it high marks or to recommend this product.
