I own many types of mole traps, and most are tricky to use effectively. The gopher hawk is simple to set, and effective for mole hill diggers. just probe the hill with a rod to find the tunnel, then open it with a dowel close to the size of the trap. push the trap into the hole, brace against the end, and pull the collar up to set it. The trap remains visible, so you know when it is tripped. Other traps are less expensive. This one works.

very difficult to set. holes in az desert are very shallow and setting requires too much strength.
