Gorilla 150 ft. Aluminum Zero-Rust Upright Hose Reel

I am pleased with this hose reel. It is sturdy but not overweight. It is made of durable aluminum and plastic, so it should not rust. In the box it was partially assembled, so there was only a few more steps to finish it. It works well and seems to prevent the hose from bending. The handle is comfortable and makes it easier to move the hose or store it for the winter.

I like this Gorilla hose Reel because, for one thing, it won’t rust. It’s made of durable thick plastic and sturdy aluminum. Assembly was a breeze. Most of the reel was preassembled and I didn’t have to refer to the instructions that much to assemble the rest. The few screws that you have to insert have holes made to fit and hold the nut in place. It’ll hold up to 150 ft of hose, and that’s plenty enough storage for me. The pre-hose that comes with it, or the hose attachment that connects to the faucet, makes a major difference in maintaining the life of my hose. The primary hose hooks up to this convenient well-engineered feature, which preserves further bending and wear on my hose. My hose is slightly aged and hardened, but it took u on the reel with ease. And the handle makes for easy carrying if I need to relocate the hose or put it in storage.

The quality of this REEL is hands down by far above all the rest on the market. It's extremely sturdy and will last for years. You've got sturdy aluminum legs as well as solid brass fittings all around. It has a low enough profile that should you have to move it, it would be no problem. It has a really nice anchor clip attached to keep hose from wanting to travel to much on the reel. Excellent metal roll up arm that won't snap like the plastic ones tend to. The connection hose from the faucet to the reel is very strong. I'm 76 years old and I see this as the last reel I will ever need to replace.It will easily exceed me.

It is well built, simple directions and the 5 pieces can be put together in 10 minutes or less with one tool, and it's provided. Takes almost that long to unpack it. If you expect to move it around a lot, order the 2 wheeled unit.....or have upper body strength. Very satisfied with this probably very long lasting hose reel.

Finally, a hose reel that isn't a flimsy piece of crap! I'm tired of leaky plastic hose reels that crack after 2 seasons. This Gorilla lives up to it's name. Built solid, BRASS fittings (I'd make that red font if I could) and a handle with a... are you sitting down?... galvanized bolt holding it together... No wheels, but with a long enough hose <snicker>, who needs em? So the first 2 weeks have been more than I expected, but dare I say it, this may just be worth the $100 pricetag...

Excellent Quality, the handle on top makes it easy to support while reeling in your hose, no other compares to the Gorilla Hose Reel I own 2 now and love them. I took my more expensive red metal ones and gave them away. Go with Gorilla you will not be disappointed and this is not a paid Ad only a truthful one.

A very good hose reel with high quality materials. I appreciated the documentation provided details about how to connect brass to aluminum to avoid corrosion fusing. I was a bit disappointed in the way it connected to my Flexzilla hose, though. That particular hose has a plastic tube around the end so the hose can rotate, but that doesn't fit well on the cylinder--it forces the hose to wrap awkwardly. I had to loosen the plastic tube from the very end so it could rest against the cylinder for the hose to wrap over itself. I also wish there was some kind of guide for the hose so it wraps up more evenly.

In Step 3, the locknut and rod it attaches to do not match up. I even tried ordering a whole set of locknuts, and none fit. This is apparently a problem with the rod being slightly too large -- poor quality control is something I've heard of in reviews many times. In addition, the instructions show several washers (at least 6) when in fact there were only two in the parts package.

Item arrived as used, previously open after item was out of stock of weeks. Dropped off without notice, would have refused package.
