I'm very happy with Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite. I have an older 55” TV and it syncs great! I followed the instructions on the interweb and it worked out really well. Set-up didn't take very long, just some attention to detail and abracadbra! The lights are deep, bright, and vibrant. Great light-show!
*Caution if you have a 65-75” tv already mounted and secured on your wall, installing the Govee light WILL be a slight challenge and take a bit more time but it's not impossible.* I did it by myself with a ladder and a little patience! Once installed and properly calibrated it works really great! The app has many features and is easy to navigate. I was even able to add a timer so the Govee auto shuts off after 10 min of inactivity. You can also add the sound feature so that the lights react based on the sounds %26 movement. Overall it's a really cool product my kids and I enjoy.
At first I thought it was to pricey for what it was but after having it for 2 weeks it really adds a different experience when watching movies and tv shows definitely worth it especially if you can get it on sale like I did
Real easy to set this up and it adds a cool backlighting effect to movies. I've been wanting something similar for years and this was a good value and works great. Probably took less than 10 minutes to install and run through the configuration process
The Govee TV lighting scheme is awesome. The lighting blends with any tv picture making it soft lighting adding a wonderful aura framing our tv. For every day tv viewing, we no longer have a secondary standing light on adjacent to the tv, only a small 25 watt lamp behind us. For movies we do not use the 25 watt lamp which immerses us into our program. Yay Team Govee.
The reason I am not rating this higher is because the Govee app prevents me from using the TV Backlight to its fullest capacity. This is my first Govee product, however I have also been using a Philips Hue light system for years so I'm very familiar with how home lighting control systems work. The difference in apps is that Hue has never asked me for my precise location, nor my wifi password. There is no need for me to be giving away my personal information like that. If Govee found a different way to operate its app I'd be able to give a more thorough review. I did give it location permission when I was setting it up at first, and was able to play with designing static colors, patterns, and effects, which was fun and user-friendly. After that I disabled the permissions and disconnected the camera so that maybe someday if things change, I can put it to use with the rest of the package. In the meantime, I just turn the LEDs on & off from the back of the tv and have a lovely rainbow chase run continuously. My only other critique is that the camera mount doesn't really fit the contour of my tv and there's no way to really adjust it. It's just balancing in place with that double-stick tape on the top. It would be cool if there was more of a clamp-type mechanism.
Pretty simple to put on the tv the only concern is I feel like the blue color is off, I have tried changing a few different settings but it's still the same
Installing this on a wall-mounted TV proved to be quite difficult, so keep that in mind. Even after spending time calibrating, the backlight still fails to consistently match the on-screen content. After just a few weeks of use, the lights started fading to black, occasionally flickering on and then fading out again. I gave it two stars because, while the static lighting might work for some, I specifically wanted dynamic, responsive effects—and this just didn't deliver.
I honestly expected a lot better from my favorite LED electronics brand. I was disappointed in both the installation instructions and the actual process, especially having to put the orange blocks on my TV screen. The camera calibration never seemed to be quite right. Once installed, I was disappointed at the brightness/dynamics and color-matching
the color accuracy is horrendous I'm sure it's good if you're color blind after only being on the TV for a couple hours the sticky paste on it started let go and it's been falling off the TV now and halfway through it starting to fall off it just shut off and it's not turning back on
