I needed some all purpose flour to make some cinnamon rolls for a pot luck. I have made this recipe many times but always used the expensive name brand flour. I decided to try this flour. Turns out it made the lightest, fluffiest tastiest cinnamon rolls I have ever made. I won’t be buying the expensive flor anymore.
Ive been baking for most of my life, as far as All Purpose Flour goes you dont need anything "better" than great value. all purpose will always serve you just as well. Of course there are plenty specialty flours where it matters but great value brand is consistent and just as reliable as other all purpose flours.
Usually, I buy bread flour. A 5lb bag is about $5.00. My recipe for a quick baking bread-machine, 2 lb loaf includes 2 tb of vital gluten for texture. Because all-purpose flour is so much cheaper than bread flour, I thought I would try all-purpose with 4 tb of vital gluten to boost the protein content of the dough back to what the bread flour would have provided. It worked! Though vital gluten is very expensive, doubling the measure to 4 tb would not raise the cost to the use of bread flour, according to my estimate. I think I am saving money by using all purpose flour instead of bread flour in the manner described. The all purpose flour with the vital gluten worked well in my recipe (which includes some whole wheat flour, too).
I have used this flour in countless recipes and it never disappoints! I have made pizza dough, bread, cake, tortilla, fried chicken, fried fish, biscuits, empanadas, and more with it ! I store it in an airtight container and it keeps fresh. Definitely a pantry staple at a a great cost
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Product Review: All-Purpose Flour (aka The Overachiever) This flour has no business being this dependable. Cakes? Nailed it. Cookies? Perfection. Gravy at Thanksgiving when everyone is watching? Absolute hero. This is the flour that shows up early, works overtime, and never complains. It has the fine, powdery confidence of something that knows it’s about to be involved in greatness. You scoop it, it behaves. You mix it, it cooperates. You bake with it, and suddenly people think you “know what you’re doing.” I’ve used it for pancakes, brownies, bread, thickening sauces, and once to fix a recipe that I absolutely messed up. Did it judge me? No. It carried the team. Pros: Works for literally everything Makes you look like a competent adult Zero drama, zero clumps Cons: Will not clean the kitchen afterward Still requires you to preheat the oven Final Verdict: If flour had a personality, this one would be calm, reliable, and quietly superior. Five stars. Would trust it with my baked goods and my reputation.
The price of the flour is typically cheaper than other stores. The texture and taste are typical for general flour. I use it in all of my baking and cooking.
Great Value All-purpose Flour is a product that rivals top brand competitors. Perhaps there are bakers with need for specific brand flours, but as a casual baker, I have no such needs. For that reason, I see bo advantage in paying the higher price.
You have changed this product. It is now listed with an orange label. I cannot purchase the old blue one anywhere. It is not restocking . The orange label says it's in stock . It must be in the back but not on the shelf because the label has not been updated . I called and tried to talk to a human being and got nowhere.
First time to open a bag and it be full of flour beetles. I asked for a refund and received it. Check your flour before putting it in your cabinet.
my flour purchase had holes in the side of bag... Im not sure if it was damaged while on the shelf, after it was collected or if it happened while it was being delivered. I won't use the flour since I'm not sure if it was exposed to anything that could cause harm.
