I don’t drink the water, but I use it for my humidifier, diffuser, etc and other items that require distilled water. It works fine. The container easily gets bent in at times when picking up my grocery order , but I like the handle; it makes it easy to carry.
This distilled water is the correct type for use in a water reservoir of CPAP units and there is none better for that application. Other so call distilled waters are produced by molecular sieves, filters, etc. and they always leave deposits in the reservoir. These can be seen as feathery white deposits in the heated stainless-steel bottom of the reservoir. That is because those processes are limited, less costly but the wrong choice for use in a CPAP. The Walmart water is the real deal because it is produced thru steam evaporation and condensation processes which produce the highest quality distilled water.
I like to keep distilled water on hand. I drink it when I am ill, I use it in little humidifiers, and when I had my cats I always used it solely as their drinking water. My male cat used to get urinary crystals and when I switched to distilled water, those crystals stopped.
This gallon jug is awkward to handle. Ther carrying mechanism has been changed to a plastc neck attachment that is hard on the hands. Without the previous built in handle, two hands are needed to handle the item. It is impractical and almost impossible to fill smaller containers like steam mop reservoirs or a golf cart battery's water vessel that's used to service batteries in golf carts or cars. For our needs, these containers are useless unless we transfer the water to a smaller container. And that requires a funnel and extra hands.
Walmart has recently changed their traditional milk jug style containers for blocky drinking water style containers. These new containers are harder to grip and more difficult to pour. Considering the fact that distilled water is most often used in small appliances this feels like a ridiculously poor decision. For now I’ll just buy the distilled water aimed at infants since it still comes in an easier to pour container and is several cents cheaper.
This container is unacceptable. It is too difficult to pour without spilling it. I spilled a lot just trying to get the top off the first time, as it sloshed out. There is no handle to support the jug while pouring. And now it seems they are constantly out of the Parent's Choice brand with a "normal" gallon-jug-type handle.
The new packaging is really bad. It requires two hands to pour. Since I actually drink it out of the jug, it’s a real pain, since now I must use both hands. In particular, I can’t drink it in the car anymore while I’m driving. Not sure why they changed it, but I won’t be purchasing it anymore until they go back to the normal milk-jug style container.
If I could give this item less than zero stars I would. It's impossible to handle with that tiny little plastic holder. It is also impossible to pour trying to hold that fat container. Please reinstate the original container. I have my own distiller water maker, so I probably won;t be buying water from you.
Who ever authorized the change of bottle design should be fired! Why would someone save a few pennies to use this CRAP Desighned Container which is almost impossible to pour into anything without wasting half the bottle. Designer should be fired! Then charging more for your non-user freindly item than you competitors useable version. Very Poor Managment on behalf of Walmart!
Distilled water is pretty much distilled water, so I have no problem with the taste. It’s the packaging I abhor! I have problems with my hands %26 trying to pour from this extremely poor design is very difficult. These were a substitute for what I ordered, so now I’m stuck with them. Found another store to order my distilled water.
