I must say that I've bee getting the Public brand marmalade for years, a few weeks ago I went in to get a jar, and good grief, the jar is smaller and the same price as name brands. So I added Wal-Mart brand to my order, and the jar is much larger and 10 times better, a great orange tangy flavor. and its 1/3rd the price of Publix and Brand names. Why didn't I do this before.
I love orange marmalade, especially when it tastes great with excellent texture and is budget friendly! I find the balance of the orange tang and sweetness perfect. - - - - This is a burst of sunshine on warm, buttery toast and English muffins, something I often have as a "dessert" when I want a quick little something sweet after dinner. - - - - For a quick dinner I put some rice on to cook, chop chicken into 1/2" pieces and sauté in a little butter. I add some crushed pineapple, a couple of heaping spoonful's of orange marmalade, and a touch of sherry to make a nice sauce. I add this to a pile of cooked rice and finish with a fist full of cilantro. Delicious in just 30 minutes. - - - - This is bright and festive for thumbprint cookies, too. Good stuff!
I purchase often, so delicious and an incredible value, reminds me of those preserves from childhood back in Florida , has just the right amount of everything tasty!
This is the perfect balance of sweetness and orange flavor/orange peel; not too sweet, not too bitter! If the USA name brands are too sweet for you but you don't care for full-on sour/bitter English orange marmalade, the perfect balance of this truly great value will blow you away!
A!though not everyone enjoys marmalade, I grew up on it. This is such a flavor burst of orange it was hard to believe.. We love it %26 have ordered more to keep in pantry as a staple. I love it's in a glass jar rather than plastic. As a person who cans both veggies %26 jams, glass is best.
What a great Southern treat. This orange marmalade is perfect for toast, spread on graham crackers, or perfect on a warm biscuit. Yummy and filled with actual fruit and orange peel. I also make a glaze for ham using this marmalade. It is a scrumptious glaze for an Easter ham. Marmalade has become so expensive. This one is about half of the price with superb quality. Just sweet enough with thick and chunky pieces of orange fruit. YUM!
OMG - I bought the Great Value marmalade to try and because it cost less. I've never seen a huge difference in taste between brands of orange marmalade before. Wow, was I ever blown away by my first taste of this one! It's sweet but citrusy with an explosion of orange taste and perfect on a toasted English muffin. I think it's spoiled me for any other brand now. I would really recommend this orange marmalade - try it, you might like it.
This marmalade tasted fine but the consistency is terrible. You cannot spread it as it just pours off the bread. Very watery. I haven't purchased any marmalade for a long time and was looking forward to enjoying some on my toasted bagels but was totally disappointed. I do not recommend this in any way. Some things you need to pony up for and pay for a better quality product. This was one of those times. I put my knife in the jar expecting the consistency of jelly and just got a runny mess. You shouldn't be able to just pour your jelly out of the jar. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! I'm throwing mine away and will try a name brand instead of a watered down generic brand.
I was looking at jars of sugar free orange marmalade ( I am diabetic) and chose this one, only to find out after it was delivered and I opened it, that it was not sugar free.
This marmalade has a bitter flavor from the zest that they add into it. There is way too much and they apparently add the white part beneath the orange zest which gives it the bitter flavor. I bought this for an orange chicken recipe and it didn't turn out well because of the bitterness.
