I just discovered these frozen root vegetables a few months ago and now include them in all my soups and stews. There is a really nice balance of vegetables, and none overwhelm the others. What I really appreciate are the sweet potatoes. There are some sweet potatoes on the market that are terrible when frozen. These are not. They are subtle and, importantly, maintain their texture during the flash frozen phase. Highly, HIGHLY recommend this indispensable soup and stew product! (They may also be great served as a side, although I have not tried that yet.)
Nice and easy way to quickly get a full range of veggies in. I'll mix in some frozen green peas %26 broccoli to round out the bunch. So much easier to do than buying each veggie %26 prepping individually. I find cooking up a 1/2 bag like this will last me, older single female, a few days…especially if mixed in with some cooked pasta %26 sauce, like Giovanni Rana Ravioli or Barilla Tortellini. Sometimes there will be one or two small bad spots, but those are easily cut out at the mid-way stir point, and aren't a big deal.
Something different from the standard frozen veggies. There were a few too many carrots and some of the others were a bit tough, but Birds Eye medleys have the same concerns. I often add veggies to my ramen meals, minus the salt pkg, and add my own herbs, spices, etc. Helps if you like beets, and don't mind the rosy coloring of the food.
Tried these for the first time recently and they did not disappoint. Put half the bag in a homemade beef stew. Adds nutritional elements and saves buying/prepping all individual items separately. May try it in a burger/sausage casserole. No additives.
I love this blend! I love beets and I love parsnips and both are in this blend. The blend is nicely balanced in that there is equal amounts of the vegetables in it without being predominately one over another. The blend is excellent if roasted on a sheet pan in the oven, but also works well as steamed vegetables. This blend also works well in soups or stews.
These are so good. The perfect mix of vegetables. The flavor of the vegetables ks just right. I love then with a little everything seasoning and usually pair them with chicken for dinner. However, I have just popped soem jn the air fryer with a little olive oil and seasoning for a snack on several occasions. These are part of my regular veggie rotation. ahighky recommend trying these!😋
This is a great combo of root veggies. You can bake these all together with olive oil and spices on them, we use Ms. Dash no salt on ours, or you can boil them and add the oil and spices. Those are the two ways we have made them and we like them both ways.
The bag is 90% carrots. The veggies are fine, cook well and taste good. But if you are expecting a blend of equal root veggies this isn't for you! If you love roasting carrots in the oven then okay but this is 5 times the price of just buying a bag of raw carrots and roast8ng them!
The only part of this medley that was palatable was the sweet potatoes which were, sadly, few in numbers. Everything else was poor quality as they were not ready for harvest much less eating. They were hard without flavor. The potatoes were the worst. I won't purchase again.
Was a frozen/icy glob of all beet red vegetables. Only edible veggie was the couple small pieces of sweet potatoes. My dogs love cooked carrots and they spit them out. Besides seeming old, the texture was tough and could not be chewed thru or cut. Put them outside for the critters (raccoons/opossums) took 2 days to disappear. I'm tired of spending what little money I have for groceries on truly inferior products. Don't your pickers know that if a frozen product is a solid mass or glob, it has thawed n re-froze and is waste food, not saleable. Has happened numerous times with GV frozen veggies n frozen fruit. Was to be for Father's Day dinner side, glad I had plenty of canned green beans. Won't purchase GV frozen veggies or fruit again. Going to try Kroger or Meijer next. Do your pickers know to pick frozen items or refrigerated items last? Those can't set in the cart while other items sre hunted down.
