Very good texture and freshness

Sherwin December 4, 2025

I've been trying to incorporate more fiber into my diet, but healthier choices can be boring. It's been awhile since I've regularly eaten prunes. These prunes are of very good quality and freshness. The prunes are plump and easy to chew. There was a bit of an aftertaste from the preservative, but it's pretty much unnoticeable after subsequent snacking occasions

Beats the "Name Brand" - MAY CONTAIN PITS

James February 17, 2026

Beats the "Name Brand" in every way except for 3 prunes with pits in the whole container. The first one discovered was a surprise. I carefully examined the container label - sure enough, there is a "CAUTION: MAY CONTAIN PITS AND/OR PIT FRAGMENTS" warning on the label. For some reason, these have not been in stock in the store when I made my last attempt to purchase them in my local WM SC.

Perfectly yummy!

anonymous August 7, 2025

These prunes are the best! Other brands have either an oil coating on them or are slimy. I actually leave a serving of these out in the fridge overnight to make them chewier than they are when they come out of the package. An awesome breakfast and/or snack!

Scrumptious! I love these so much!

W September 29, 2025

These dried prunes are so juicy, sweet, and tasty, it's hard not to eat them as a snack. I give the kids these too. I use these sometimes for hawaiian subs we used to make in a restaurant I worked in, and they are surprisingly good! Just a hoagie roll, some olive oil with italian seasoning and some red pepper flakes in it, coat both sides of the bread LIGHTLY, then ham (or turkey) deli slices, a handful of drained pineapple chunks, about 3 to 5 prunes, top with provolone or mozzerella, and toast under the toaster oven. Watch the bread cos you might have to take out the 'top' side first or toast them seperately since a regular oven isn't like the pizza oven and doesn't cook evenly. We topped it with sliced tomato. Try it! It was really pretty good!

Fresh Soft and Sweet

anonymous November 27, 2025

I was pleased at the freshness of these prunes, not dried out or tough. Tender and sweet. Value for the money, a good sized container, easy to store, much easier to retrieve than ones in a bag that get your hand all gooped up. This will be my go to product from now on.

pretty good

Candice April 28, 2026

Pretty good, but you can tell different batches come out differently, but mostly all good! I had one can once that had pits, and then a couple have been a little more smooshed than I like, BUT I tried the name brand for a bit and came back because this one actually is better. I eat two with each meal.... or at least try to.

New Packaging, Much Lower Quality

Cindy June 5, 2026

I have purchased these prunes regularly for quite some time and have always been pleased with them. However, this latest order arrived in new packaging, and the quality is noticeably different. The prunes are much smaller and are no longer sweet, tender, and flavorful as they have been in the past. Instead, they are largely tasteless, tough, and chewy. I have opened three containers from this order, and all have been disappointing. One container was from lot 6097, and the others appeared similar. My husband and I both noticed the difference immediately. The product is still within its expiration date (good until 2027), so this does not appear to be an age issue. We have been loyal customers for years and hope the manufacturer will investigate and restore the quality that made us continue buying this product.

DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS PRODUCT!

A January 21, 2026

These walmart brand prunes regularly contain large and small pits. Every package/container I have bought has almost caused dental and mouth damage with normal chewing. After several packages/containers having this awful quality, I realized this isn't an occasional problem, as the description claims, IT IS THE NORM. I'd rather pay a few cents more for a better quality brand in the supermarket. Plus, they go on sale in supermarkets and the savings is really significant over walmart's regular price(s). I tried to post a picture but walmart will not allow me to add a picture.

Contaminated

Disappointing April 29, 2026

Since the last time I ordered they have decided to add seed oil for no good reason. It now has an oily after taste that is unpleasant. Seed oils have been identified as toxic by many sources including the US Surgeon General’s office. This was a completely unnecessary contamination of a perfectly good product. Returning and never ordering again. Canola oil is really R-a-p-e seed oil, they changed the name for marketing purposes. I had to add the dashes because the censor in the software found it offensive.
