I love this weedeater! My husband and I both in our 70's and it is so easy for us to use. Easy start, easy to change line, expandable pole and lightweight. Charge the battery and go. Great for use around my flowers and shrubs.

works very well, very lightweight, assembles quickly. The auto feed is a little tricky to get used to, it IS NOT a the type you bump the spool head on the ground ! You just simply release trigger and listen for spool to click and just before it stops pull the trigger again, repeat until it trims itself. Do not let the line get too short or it won't auto feed properly.

Order was delivered in a very timely way and was received in excellant condition. Battery charged up as it should. There is no yanking of a starting cord or filling up with gasoline. It is a lightweight, easy to handle device.

The Greenworks 40V cordless string trimmer (Order%232000130-29820789) was delivered yesterday (03-24-25). I assembled it per the brochure included, %26 upon completion went to charge the battery. I then noticed the plug on the battery charger was broken. I took the charger to the Customer Service counter at the local Walmart, hoping that it could be reordered, but was told the entire package would have to be returned. I returned with the entire package, %26 a refund was processed. I want to reorder the same Greenworks 40V 12” Cordless String Trimmer with 2.0Ah Battery and Charger—one that is fully functional—for the same price as the original purchase. Please deliver it to the same address. It should also be charged to my PayPal account. I also want confirmation that the 3 year Lawn %26 Garden Protection Plan added to the original order applies to this replacement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace another trimmer. I thought I was getting an exact replacement, but I ordered one that was smaller. The reason for the lower rating is the automatic string feed wasn't feeding line correctly. I had to take the cap off several times during my working session to manually feed/straighten the line.

Expected a better quality product from Greenwoorks. The 40v battery is the only redeeming quality. Otherwise the trimmer is designed for a 20v battery. Like a trimmer for beginners.Beginner

I bought this item in March 2025 online from Walmart. I first used it in May of 2025 and it worked good. I started to use it again in June of 2025 and I couldn't get the battery to charge and after fooling with it for a while, I ordered a replacement charger. The replacement charger arrived and after trying to charge the battery, it was decided that this was not the problem. After the Fourth of July weekend I returned the original item and the replacement charger to Walmart. Customer service refunded me my money for the replacement charger but told me 90 days had passed since I purchased the original Greenworks 40 Volt weed eater, and therefore I was out of luck! I left the whole mess with the service department and will never buy anything else with Greenwork wrote on it!!

received this trimmer without the spring that i need to put it together. i have tried everwhere to find out what to do with this useless piece of equipment. i would like to return this and get a refund because this has been a nightmare trying to find someone to help me

I like that it's very lightweight but it doesn't stay charged very long. I was hoping I'd be able to do my whole yard with it which isn't very big but that's not possible because it doesn't stay charged very long and I was under the impression it was going to come with two batteries and it didn't.
