Bought this for two properties I own that have smaller size lawns. I bought it because I could easily lift it in and out of my car and store it easily in an area below my deck it works really well and the battery charges quickly. I wish I could get a second battery, but the price was too steep.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wanting an extra battery, and now I have a mower for not much more then buying a battery.
This mower was on sale when I bought it. Easy to assemble and the battery charged in about 2 hours. It was already half charged when it came. I had tall grass, since my gas powered motor stopped working and this mower went right through it without any problem. I know my gas mower would have stalled or I would have to mower slower. I do have a small yard, which would be ideal for this mower.
I tried it out in some rather thick grass and weeds; therefore, the battery would deplete it's charge rapidly. Next time I will mow before the grass has grown so much. I really need two batteries to do my grass. All in all I think it is a good little mower.
I bought this because I could t get anyone to mow my yard and my husband is disabled. So I bought this for myself. It’s light and easy to use. It did my front yard with one charge. Plus the nagger was a plus. My yard looked great. I’m 65 and needed a rest by that time the battery died. It was so easy to do it myself. I would recommend it for anyone.
I bought this mower because I bought a GreenWorks electric trimmer last year that works great. Now I wish I had bought the cordless one from them instead. This is a great little mower and has lots of power that I didn't expect. The battery lasts a little more than an hour. It uses a bit more power when cutting thick high grass, the motor revs up automatically to get the job done and it cuts through the tough stuff great. I bought an extra battery because my yard is so big so when one runs out of charge I just pop the other one in. So much easier and cleaner than gas mowers that kept breaking down on me. And this one is so light, quiet and easy to use. I can even hear the birds singing while I mow. It also mulches great even the high grass, I have no clumps or rows of grass laying around to rake up. When I'm done I just turn it on it's side and wipe it all down with a cloth. Surprisingly even when it has mulched high grass it doesn't have a lot stuck to the underneath. It's light to pick up and put away too. I haven't used the bag at all yet because it mulches so well, but the bag is a nice sturdy material. The only problem I had was that Walmart promised delivery within 4 days and I didn't get it till 8 days later. So I will not be getting anything shipped by them again.
I'm quite pleased with my purchase. Lightweight, starts right up, great battery life and easy to adjust. Only gave 4 stars as the turning radius is not that great, at least compared to my last mower. Overall I'm very happy with this mower, and the price.
i had to get a new mower because the hyoertough was not only money pit with failing expensive batteries but last new battery swole into mower so i couldn't even return it for warranty. I couldn't afford the higher voltage and suggest anyone that can to get the higher models. this mower is harder to push than hypertough, exhausting my arms. very difficult to push at times. I do like the 1 larger 40v battery instead of 2 20v, and despite it being harder to push, the mower is reserving battery life and i can get more done and when battery finally needs charging, it isn't hot like hypertough batteries. battery was cool and charged quickly. so far I'm grateful and hope battery lasts. I know often mentioning comps can prevent reviews from being allowed but that wouldn't be in the best interest of us customers. we desperately need to be able to compare so we can understand the purchase, especially with products that cost triple digits
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our third Greenworks mower. The previous two died due to motors that failed because their brushes stopped making good contact with the rotor. Unfortunately spare parts are not available, so the failure of a part that probably doesn't cost more than a dollar or two turns the machine into a big hunk of waste. The chargers are also a mixed bag, two of our three are quite flakey often showing an error and failing to charge – but switch to the good charger and the battery charges just fine. If we didn't have a bunch of Greenworks batteries (which have held up for years), we would not have bought another Greenworks mower.
It misses strips of grass constantly even when mowing right over them. Yard is almost always full of uneven spots when done. Plus the charger sometimes doesn't chsrge the battery
