I hadn't had Greenworks products before, but ended up buying five different lawn care products this summer. It all started with a Pole Saw. I bought a no-name import knock off at a great price, but it just didn't perform well, so after much research, I bought the Greenworks pole saw. It performed great. I am finding that these battery powered outdoor care products have REALLY improved over the years. I don't like to fuss with gas powered products because I always forget to put fuel stabilizer in them over the winter. Furthermore, I don't use these products consistently and starting a seldom used gas lawn product can be difficult. So I have always had corded products. However, I have a larger sized yard and I have just gotten tired of running extension cords all the way into my yard. Also, when using products like hedge trimmers, I am always cutting my extension cords! The last time I did that, I shorted out a circuit and after that, and after my experience with the Greenworks Pole Saw, I decided to get these hedge trimmers. All the Greenworks products I have bought are made with good quality, but they also have reasonable price points. Really, this tool line is right in the sweet spot for me. The best thing with sticking with the same product line is that one then has battery compatibility, though one thing to look out for is that Greenworks makes 24V, 40V, 80V products. If you want to have extra battery power at hand, then stick with the same voltage line. The improvement of these battery products means the power is a lot better than it used to be and the batteries last plenty of time. I really like the extension these hedge trimmers give you. I have some large hedges that are hard to reach and as I get older, I don't like to get up on a ladder, as I am somewhat accident prone. I always find my mind wanders when I am doing this kind of work and ladders and absent mindedness don't mix. The extension pole means I can dispense with the ladder. The battery lasts plenty of time to accomplish what I need to accomplish, especially given that I have extra batteries because I have five Greenworks products. That being said, I found that one battery was more than enough to finish a normal amount of hedge trimming. The motor is more than powerful enough. In fact, these hedge trimmers are more powerful than the corded ones they replaced. I would recommend this product for the great value and quality it provides.
Any negative reviews that I have research and read are minimal towards the price of this item at its current price for the value of what it supplies! i'm 72 years old. Yes, I have to. use some muscle and strength. to work with it, but it does the job of hedging and trimming! now if they want to lower the price any further, that would be great. I'll buy three for my daughters and one for my son.!!!!
I've been using this like a string trimmer. It works way better. No need to keep changing string. Cut's through almost all of the weeds quickly.
Works great! Handles easy . I'm older so that's important
Seems to be solidly built and the battery lasted as long as I needed it to.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works very well so far. I have only had the opportunity to use it a few times. These are my likes 1. It is pretty powerfull and cuts great. 2. Very quiet. 3. The angled cutting helps. I took off a point because it is a little heavier than i expected especially for a senior also using fully extended it is hard to keep the switch down and get the reach you want.
Overall on the heavy side, but it does exactly what it advertises to do. It trims well and has enough grunt to trim some thicker branches.
It does a good cutting job. It has a nice long cutting zone. It's a little too heavy but, then again, I'm 74 years old.
Never tried it. Arrived in beat up previously-opened box. I did not want to chance it and returned to local store. Bad seller. But Walmart gave me refund with no hassle.
It worked well for a month until it stopped working completely.
