I am extremely happy with this purchase and would highly recommend the product. The attachments are great... especially when you don't need or want a food processor at home, but a good chopper is aways appreciated, definitely give this consideration.
I've received the Hamilton Beach immersion hand blender with whisk and chopping container, but haven't had the chance to try it yet… Everything looks as advertised, quality products with the Hamilton Beach name on them… I can't wait to try it, when I have I'll provide an update on it.
I regret not buying something like this sooner. If you live in an apartment especially, this thing is priceless. So versatile and easy to use. It's easy to clean, sturdy, powerful, and easy to swap utensils. The chopper bowl is surprisingly large too. I haven't put the whisk attachment to use yet, but I'm sure it'll be as good as everything else. I can not recommend this thing highly enough!
The wire whip attachment is light speed whipping and the hand chopper blended my chowder so fast and easily I had to stop myself from making puree! Watch out for the power of this thing! It has two speeds: normal and NASA. And I haven't used the included food processor attachment. I know, I sound like a shill. Nope. Just a guy with a new toy, I mean TOOL!
The old Braun hand blender quit after about 5 years of daily use and this Hamilton Beach is the only reasonably priced hand blender that I could find. Consumers Reports gave it a fairly good rating. It is heavier than the Braun, more powerful, and has two speeds. It is also quite a bit heavier. I have not tried the chopper bowl. It looks like a small food processor and is larger than the one that came with the Braun. Overall, I would say it is a much higher quality set than the Braun.
If you don't own an immersion mixer, get this one. Affordable and terrific. Instead of making a mess of my blender (lots of cleaning afterwards, and the blades tend to catch vegetable strings which makes for poor mixing). Just put this mixer in the pot of soup or tomato sauce, etc. to mix it in the pot instead Then you only need to quickly wash the mixer head off and put everything back. Saves time, water, and labor.
When it first arrived , I was not happy with the bowl part. I could not open the lid. It seemed like it was glued on. The rest was great, whisk for omelet worked good and fast. So called the company and told them. the said to spray some pam or a type of spray since I did not have pam , but other type. after a few mins. after spraying it broke loose. Now all is well and it is fun to use.
This was much easier to use, cost much less, and had more attachments (chopper/processor, and whisk) than à la di da brand I returned that cost $20 more and only came with a smoothie cup.
The blender and the food processor attachments work great, but the whisk, which I use several times a week, is disappointing. It appears to be off-center and flimsy, which causes it to 'wobble' and splatters the cream I'm whipping. I won't return it because the processor attachment is so much better than the one I already have. Too bad the whisk is of such a poor quality.
Do not buy this if you intend to wash the food processor attachment. I ended up throwing it away, as no matter how you wash it, water gets trapped in the lid and it cannot be taken apart without breaking it. It was really gross and I couldn't stand it anymore. It was sad because it worked really well, but not worth the money since you are guaranteed to get dishwater in whatever you make. Save your money if you want the food processor and get something that can be cleaned properly, this product is unsafe.
