A solid blender for smoothies; this is my third. Good value and lasts about two years when I regularly chop ice. Easy to clean and I appreciate the two-container setup so one can be washing while the other is ready. Lids fit well; haven't tested during travel but seem secure if kept upright.
I live alone so I needed just a small blender. I love this one. It has two jars and lids and it is just perfect. Actually I love Milk Shakes and this one makes them just perfect. I like the fact that there is 2 jars and lids so I can put one in the freezer and make another one for my grandchildren. You will just love this blender.
I have blenders, expensive single serve things that promised the word and overheated easily, but this Hamilton Beach Single Serve Blender shocked me. I wouldn't have bought it, except the reviews were so glowing. And inexpensive blender that everyone loved? I rely on whey protein drinks to supplement my diet. Awful, right? So, I doc them up with frozen smoothie mix. And this little single serve mixer handles the job fast, mixes everything completely, no chunks, no yucky whey protein powder... so yum! (and I'm finicky!) Bonus - the container you mix in is also a travel cup! (Pictured: my chocolate banana-strawberry smoothie) p.s. other "smoothie" blenders would over heat... and I paid a fortune Thank you, Hamilton Beach!
This is my second Hamilton Beach single serve blender. The first lasted a number of years. So many years that I lost track of how old it is. I bought this on to replace the first. I also have a very powerful large glass blender. My husband and I love the single serve one better for many reasons 1) Perfect to clean the blender and lid in dishwasher 2) Easy to pour or retrieve blended ingredients (my big blender on the other hand makes it difficult to retrieve the ingredients blended on the bottom) 3) Powerful enough to blend anything I've ever tried blending 4) Easy to store because it's so compact 5) This is a well made product it can be used everyday and still last many years. I love that this blender comes with two jars & lids. This insures that one is always clean and ready for use.
I searched and compared many single served blenders for a long time before deciding to buy this Hamilton Beach Single-Serve Blender with 2 Jars & 2 Lids and I'm so glad I did. It's very good. I was concerned about the power if it would crush ice, if I needed to buy a new ice tray for smaller ice cubes but turn out there is no problem crushing regular size ice cubes at all. The lid is not the screw in type, so you have to push in and pull out which is not difficult to do, make sure the lid and the slide close tightly before start blending. It's easy to clean, I was worry that the white lid would permanently strained by my libstick but it clean up very nicely and easily (just wipe it off) . It's a very good buy, 2 jars with the price of one, it's doing the job well and for less than $15 - what not to like ^_^ I really recommended this blender.
I checked the ratings on this blender before purchasing it. I couldn't believe how many great ratings it had. We've been using it daily, for a week. It's a great buy. As long as you don't overload it with ice or frozen fruit, you shouldn't have any problems. Have recommended to to many of my friends.
This is s nice little blender for one person. Do not fill it past the 12 oz mark. therefore you cannot put ice in it, or maybe very little. By the time you fill it with 8oz of milk, I cup of fruit, and 2 scoops of protein powder it will be full. If you fill it too full, and use the glass top as a drinking glass, the top will come loose, when you drink out of it. The top does not screw on tightly. I filled it too full, and when I drank from the glass a lot of smoothie ran down my clothes. That happened twice, so don't fill it too full' I really like this blender, and have used it every day so far.
If you are a prep queen, that has everything in the freezer and ready to go, or a crushed ice dispenser in your refrigerator, then this could be good for you! Otherwise forget the 'quick healthy breakfast' idea you may have floating around in your head. The motor isn't very powerful, I had 4 ice cubes and liquid in and it wouldn't crush the ice...I scooped out the ice cubes and crushed them manually (sorry neighbors :/ ) then it worked fine on the fruit (blueberries and strawberries with some greek yogurt and milk). After the first smoothie there was a smell like heat when I made the 2nd one. It did make two delicious smoothies and the lids seal VERY well on the jars. These jars and lids will stand up to kid drinking!
I do not recommend this at all. We bought as a quick smoothie maker for our 2nd home. Milk, banana, little ice and protein powder......couldn't do the trick and motor smelled like it was going to blow. No power to blend! Entire item poor quality and very cheap - you get what you pay for - so I am not surprised. What surprised me are the good reviews that encouraged me to try this product.
I bought this so I could make more than one smoothie and store it but the instructions say not to store liquid in the cups I also thought I'd be able to take the jar with me in the car and drink but the instructions say not to drink from the cup It also does not mix frozen fruit well
