I'm an ole man. I bought this after my 25 year old Oyster bit the dust. And I only use it for making margaritas. It crushes ice well enough for me. Maybe not icee smooth, but good enough. I like the wide mouth opening. And the pitcher is heavy glass, not plastic. My youngest daughter asked about my blender, said she wanted to start making smoothies. I bought her one, and she says it works well for her. She says it makes a cool tornado when she makes malts and smoothies. I agree, when I make frozen drinks. Now the question is, just how long they will last. So far, I recommend this blender for the initial cost, and the power to crush ice. I might add, appears they fixed the lid problem. It stays on pretty tight.
Bought this blender to replace one that had lasted for 20 years; so this had high expectations placed on its performance. So far I am very pleased, works great on smoothies and cleans up easily.
I like that you can completely take every piece apart to wash. Works pretty good. I make lentil fritters on occasion. So blending the lentils was a breeze with this. I also blended some onion for curries and it was really good. I was irritated though that the price dropped $9 the day after I purchased and Walmart can't do price difference apparently
I have been using this blender for a week now, making smoothies. It seems to do a great job! I think the container is a little smaller than most regular blenders but it still holds a good amount. I would recommend this blender, especially for the price!
I've only had the Hamilton Beach Wave Crusher for a few days, but so far it's completely satisfactory. Although it's a little noisy, it doesn't have to run for very long to get the job done, so the noise isn't a problem. I'm pleased that it will quickly blend frozen fruits as well as greens to make smooth, healthy drinks. I really like the sleek looks of this blender. It's also easy to clean. I would definitely recommend this blender to anyone.
For the price I love this blender. I use it twice a day for smoothies. Blends up well and fast. Great quality. Glass Container and pour spout on top of lid. Makes it really easy. Lid is very durable. Several options for blending. Just my experience.
This works really good but be careful that you have the container seated correctly in the well where it attaches to the blender because I thought I did but it wasn't and it shrieked really loud and tore up some of the plastic. unlike the previous version this blender doesn't have a setting with a timer. you have to hold the button down the whole time.
I've only used this blender twice and even though it doesn't hit some of my expectations, I do like it. First of all it doesn't crush ice. I put ice in and hit the grind button and the ice all went to the sides of the jar and stayed there. Turned it off and tried again, same thing. I guess if you want crushed ice, you have to start out with very small pieces of ice, or add some water to the jar before trying to crush. I used a recipe in the book for a milk shake, the shake came out very thin. I guess I'm going to have to use more ice cream. The pour spout works great though.
This Hamilton Beach Wave Crusher is not as described. I purchased it to crush ice, very disappointed. The wave motion takes the ice cubes to the top and doesn't crush unless you consistently open top and move the cubes around. It creates a vortex action around the blades. Hence the ice is pushed to the sides of the blender too. Think it would be a great blender for chopping, dicing, mixing etc. My old one was 40 yrs. working great, but not for chopping ice cubes.. I knew what I wanted but this Hamilton Beach blender was not it. And I had to return it and purchased another brand, more dependable. Think about your general needs and chose one more to your daily needs.
The lid is extremely difficult to put on and to remove. It broke my nail as I tried to remove it I've had it for one month and I will reach out to see if I can exchange it - might be a bad lid otherwise I'll have to return it
