I can cook a large amount of food at one time. I find by one pot meals I can freeze several bags of chili, stew, and my own recipe for days I want to do a happy thing for myself
I love my Hamilton Beach 8 quart slow cooker use it a lot I have a spare one in case my slow cooker does not work or if someone in the neighborhood needs to slow cooker
This is a great crockpot, even for meals for 2 people and it's nice to have a few leftovers from it. I found that the oval shape is great for using the longer cuts of meat and doesn't overcrowd. Simple to use as well without all the fancy settings so many appliances have! Would definitely recommend!
my go to if i want to put up supper before i leave to work put up a nice meat stew or chicken and potatos to slow cook for 12 hours and so tasty the ceramic pot cooks it great, its just a very delicate base gets dented very easily and has limited controls
This was the second one I've purchased. The first one was amazing, but my daughter dropped the lid and i couldn't find a replacement, so bought another. it works fine, however the knob melted. very disappointing! my only options were refund or replace, so I'm returning for a refund. i wish they would have just replaced the knob!
Returning to the store. Disappointed that the day I was going to use for the first time, I noticed when washing the ceramic cook pot that a section was missing the glaze finish around the top. Recommend that you inspect the entire unit before using it.
It appears to be a decent cooker, but once out of the box the lid or the stoneware insert was slightly warped. This appears to be an ongoing issue with many brands as we have returned many this year and are still searching for one that fits correctly. We have had many slow cookers over our lifetime and have never seen the overall quality across many brands drop like this. The few that we have ordered from other suppliers as well if they did have a lid that fit had some other issue that prevented us from keeping it.
Something was wrong with the finish inside the actual stoneware pot. I used it only twice and the finish was all white looking. I always wash my crockpots by hand. The last Hamilton Beach crockpot I had lasted 10 years and was still in excellent condition but I wanted a little bit larger one. I love the crockpot except for this problem with the finish. I will try returning it and getting another one, and I hope it does not happen again.
I bought 2 one for me and one for my daughter. Tried to cook in it and both pots controls were not functioning correctly. Tried to slow cook on low for 8 hours as recipe I was using called for and food was nowhere close to being done and food was barely warm. My daughter had the same problem. It appears to me there is a quality control problem. I will be returning both pots.
it's a great product, I have 3. this one is listed as an 8 qt. but you have to fill all the way up to the rim to fit 8 qts. which causes run over so if that's your plan. better to get the 10 qt
