HART 12-Foot Chrome Tape Measure

Works great. Extends and retracts easily with no snags, and the lock works well. I was pleased to find a tape measure of this quality for such a low price.

The Hart compact 12 foot 1/2" tape measure is excellent to carry in a vehicle in a map pocket, console or glove compartment as it takes up a small amount of room. You never know when you may need to measure a possible new purchase to make sure it will fit in the vehicle you are driving. This tape measure is also just the right size to fit in that drawer we all have inside the home for a few sometimes needed tools around the house. The Hart tape opens smooth and retracts as it should and also has a thumb operated sliding lock to hold the tape measure in position. There is a pattern in the top of the case that helps to make it easier to hold onto also. Oh, and don't forget the belt or pocket clip on the back that makes it handy to carry with you hands free. This is a quality tool in a compact size which is just right for many uses.

This chrome tape measure is far superior to the ones we already own. I use them constantly and keep one in a variety of places in the house and garage. I love that this Hart has the actual 1/8, 1/4, etc. markings on the tape. It pulls out and retracts easily and is very sturdy. Another great feature is the compact and light size in a full size measuring tape. It will be very easy to carry to a store. I highly recommend this brand!

I compared this HART tape measure with another tape measure that I already owned (see photos). The HART tape measure is 12 feet long and it is actually smaller than the cheap-o tape measure that I already had (12 feet vs. 6 feet). The HART tape measure is made out of chrome metal, instead of plastic. And the actual metal tape (with the numbers printed on it) is wider on the HART than on my other tape measure. SUMMARY: The HART tape measure is: 1. More compact, 2. Metal, not plastic, and has 3. Larger tape with easier-to-read numbers. This is a high-quality tape measure easily suited to all DIY projects you will encounter.

Great every day carry tape measure. Unfamiliar with the Hart brand, but seems as good as Stanley or other major brands, if not better. 12' tape is small enough to carry for "just in case I need to measure." Like the "inner-inch" markings. They make it easy to discern the 1/16", 1/8", 1/4", 1/2" measures. And the tape is a robust 3/4" wide! The price is good for the quality and features.

I use it for small jobs around our home and keep it in the desk drawer. The clip is strong spring steel and will last the life of the tape measure. The tape itself is very sturdy and will go just under 10' before it falls. The markings are clear and easy to read. The case is a nice chrome. And best of all it has a lifetime warranty!

I wanted a small tape measure to keep in my desk drawer with my larger tape measure. And it would be convenient to grab this and throw in my purse when needed away from the house. My husband saw this in the drawer a day after I received it and he's used it several times and he really likes how sturdy it is for a being so small. I think this will definitely be our go to tape measure unless we need to measure anything over 12 feet.

I love this little tape measure! It's a great size for me and easy to handle and not heavy for my arthritic hands. The best part by far is that it has fractions written on the tape, making it SO much easier for me to use. No more counting tiny lines to get exact results. My husband can keep our older & larger tape measure, this one is mine!

Absolutely terrible packaging. You must use just brute force to get the tape measure off of the backing. And no hint of instructions on how to do that.

It's fine but I hoped that it would have centimeters as well.
