This leaf vac is amazing. I managed to do my curbs, sidewalks and front lawn, along with my 2 neighbors. No leaf rake needed. It sucks and shredded leaves like magic. To dump bag, fast, simple and easy. Long battery life while using my vac. It's worth every penny.
If you understand what this was designed for, it is definitely a five-star item. It is not designed to suck up all the leaves in your yard. There are larger, ride-on vacuums for that. I use this item on my upper back deck which is not covered and gets covered in leaves several times every fall. My leaf blower either just blows the leaves into the railings or out into the yard, but the vacuum sucks them up and mulches them for easy two-in-one removal. I also use it on my gravel driveway. It is strong enough to pick up the leaves but not strong enough to suck any gravel into the motor. I'm happy with the battery life which is enough to do two decks or a deck and a driveway. So, it's the right tool for the right job as long as you understand what the right jobs are.
I suggest purchasing this product for the overall use. It has great charging and quick results. I have used it in my yard to remove leaves and smaller twigs. It has great suction, and I love the wheel feature, thst allows you to move around the yard with it easily.
I bought this item and have used it many times I definitely think it's an asset to helping me get my yard done. it really does a great job of picking up the whatever you're trying to pick up with it and I was kind of worried that it might get messed up if it picked up rocks on the ground however it has not had a problem at all and I've used it several times and picked up several rocks with it out of my yard. so I highly recommend it
My new leaf vac battery is good for 3 full bags of leaves. I absolutely love it. The battery is charging now. It takes a couple of hours to charge, and I have been using it daily since I received it. I usually don't go above medium speed as it is powerful at that setting.
I will not know until leaf cleanup time, but what I will say is that I told the Rep at Walmart that the box was badly beaten up and he told me that it would be okay! Apparently he does not know what damaging can occur to a motor when you toss the box has been tossed around like a bull in a china shop. We shall see. I only bought it because I had an awesome leaf mulcher for over 30 years and had the motor repaired. In the meantime I bought 2 other less than efficient leaf mulchers last fall, both returned. I have always had large oak trees and need a well made product. This was my last resort, I saw it up on the shelf at another store. Should have bought that one, but decided to pick one up closer to home. So, I am hoping it will work! So far I just charged the battery and powered it on. No suction, but blower was working . We shall see when I attach the mulcher. I have pictures, but on my phone, not on my PC or I would post them. 3 to 4 star only because I will not know until my oak sheds it's leaves in December. I hope it is a 5-star and not a 1-star!
I'm giving it 3 stars because although it worked well, it stopped working entirely after about 8 uses. I called Hart about 2 weks ago and they said I qulify for a replacement, however I have Not received it and will have to call again. As long as they work they are good for what I would call light duty residential use.
Just getting the switch in the right place for it come on is ridiculously tricky. And that also keeps it from going to different power selections..........I don't think it's worth it all because the the power switch.....to bad it was promising in the ads.
Yes it does vacuum but it gets heavy. I just used it for the first time. It was easy to put together although clipping the bag on and off to empty is a little awkward; however, the bag can be unzipped to empty also. I used it to vacuum up leaves and alot of acorns. The bag became very heavy due to the acorns. While only leaves will be lighter, it will still be heavy if you have alot to pick up. I used a 6 AH battery that was still working when I was tired and ready to stop. Picking up leaves while holding the vacuum is heavy, hard work so this is not for everyone but it does vacuum them up. Leaves need to be dry to vacuum well.
The leaves collection bag is awkward to carry. Battery life is short, which requires two hours or more to recharge. Every so often, it stops sucking, I have to clear debris or tiny twigs by reaching inside the suction tube. I am not impressed with this equipment.
