Hefty Kitchen Trash Can, 12.1 Gallon Plastic Step Garbage Bin with Soft Close Foot Pedal Lid, Gray

I've had several metals containers and they always before too long give mechanisms problems and securely attaching the plastic bags to them. With these containers the Members Mark 13 Gl. bags I've always purchase from Sam Club for Years fit tightly and securely to the top.

This is a good size plastic garbage can. It works well in our patio room. It's easy to open and close, either using the pedal on the bottom or lifting the lid. It is a good size. I like the grey color. Price was phenomenal. My only critique is that it came without the lid attached and it took a while for me to figure out how to put the lid on so that it would go up and down with the pedal. If possible, they should try to deliver it with the lid on.

Great, lower cost, attractive trashcan. The subtle Grey color blends in nicely. My standard 13.2 Gallon Trash Bags fit this trashcan easily. The shape of the Can holds the Bags Wide Open too. The Foot Pedal is easy to operate and the attractive Lid can be easily opened by hand. Great purchase!

I went with the name and I wasn't disappointed. Great 13 gallon pail for the money. Foot pedal convenience and a reasonable capacity for many kitchens. Highly recommended if you're looking for a reasonably priced pale. I guess that's all you really need to know about a pale.

I've always wanted a container like this to put my trash in, but every time I went to the store, I completely overlooked them. I got one finally and I'm happy that I did. Thank you.

it's made by Hefty. wish it was slightly bigger. like 14 gal instead of 13 gal. previous kitchen can was slightly larger and heavier built. should have gotten the one at Ross's for same price but then I wouldn't have been able to have it delivered 😀

In 2016 I purchased a Hefty kitchen plastic trash can. It lasted for almost 10 years wish no issues until the plastic hinge finally broke off from normal wear. In January of 2026 I, purchased this item, hoping that it would be as durable as the prior one. Let me say that is not as sturdy as the other one and the plastic lid constantly pops out of the hinge. I was disappointed but my wife decided to keep it anyway.

Neither of us could get the lid to “connect and stay on!!” Although we towed their very limited and obviously incorrect “instructions” minimal as they were. Neither of us are “stupid”. This dumb trash system does not work at all! We are RETURNING it for a refund.

When I received my Hefty garbage pail… the lid does not fit the pail…. It specifically says what letter to put with the bottom and it's not that letter. I would like to get a correct lid

A half hour after it being delivered I had it loaded up and took it back for a refund!! If I would have studied it closer when they dropped it off I would have told the driver to just keep it! Why would they even make a trash can like that without a liner/bucket for the trash bags? All I could see was it ripping the bags when you went to remove them from the can. What were they thinking? It might work if you only filled your trash bags half full but who does that? I guess that's what I get for not reading the reviews and trying to save money!! It's no wonder it was half the price of the others!
