I'm installing these anchors in 1 1/2 thick wardrobe sliding hollow doors. I'm upgrading recessed pulls handles to 24" hardware pulls. With 1 1/2 flat washers %26 2" button head bolts w/ lock washers, gave the stability I needed. Breaking off the pointed tip so the %238 32 thread bolts drove through nice and tight into the hardware pulls. This is against the recommended method of inserting a solid wood block. I'm single %26 live alone, w/ no children. So it really depends on your project. For dry wall %26 hanging heavy mirrors they are perfect. Living in an earthquake state of Calif. These anchors held my mantle mirror through a 7.0 sismic quake.

Ideal for drywall
If I'm hanging anything, I use these. They're metal so they don't bust like cheap plastic ones and they're so easy to screw into wall.
