I purchased 2021's Hisense 55U7G for it's 120Hz and other gaming features. I actually purchased THREE of them--sent them back, too. all 3 had extraordinary screen quality, and pathetically poor sound that dropped in and out continually, even after resets. because of the superior visuals, I decided to give Hisense one last shot. 2022's Hisense 65U8H is more than I dared to hope for, with the same superior screen quality and gaming features, but without any of the intolerable audio issues. THIS one I can happily recommend!
After watching numerous reviews on YouTube about TVs in this price point I had narrowed it down to the Sony x80k and the Hisense U8H. Based on reviews, price, and availability I chose the Hisense and while I've only had it a couple days so far I love it. I am surprised by the sound quality. My TCL 75” I'm replacing had a great picture but poor sound quality and Hisense appears to have great picture and sound. I primarily use the TV for gaming with my PS5 and streaming via AppleTV. The picture quality is great and it really is a marked improvement over the two year old TCL tv I replaced with the Hisense. Colors are so much brighter and the game seems to run smoother on this tv.
This TV is everything I'd been looking for and by far exceeded my expectations. The display is very colorful and makes colors pop that my previous TV never came close to. I use this primarily for gaming and it makes my Xbox Series X unleash its full potential. I would highly recommend this TV!
The Hisense 65" U8H is very, very bright. Picture is clear and crisp. Blacks are pretty black, close to OLED. Voice commands are pretty cool. Hisense really outdid themselves with this one. Andor was a treat to watch on this, and playing Pokemon Scarlet is a blast. 120Hz is nice to have too, but haven't been able to fully utilize that yet. God of War Ragnarök would probably be amazong to play on this TV, but I gotta find a PS5 first. Anyone? Haha... unless? 🥺
The UH8 is an excellent tv. Purchased the 65 inch version. Shipping through Walmart's 3rd party shipper Pilot went smoothly (delivered 2 days early). Set up the tv and out of the box the picture was crystal clear and bright. I lowered the backlight from 100 to 85 and turned off eco mode. Gameplay on the PS5 is awesome. Colors pop and motion is smooth. I would highly recommend the uh8 to anyone looking for a tv %26 gaming upgrade without spending $500 more for an oled.
Ordering from Walmart.com was simple, as usual. However, the trucking company was lean on delivery info and the tv came 2 days later than promised. Total shipping time was about 9 days. The TV itself seems very good for the money. Be prepared to tweet settings though. Most reviewers mention this. Out of the box the picture was disappointing. No worries though, just watch some YouTube reviews and follow the suggestions for settings and you'll see how this TV "comes to life."
The TV arrived safe and sound and no damage. The picture quality is wonderful. Rich colors and deep blacks. Good sound. It has Google assistant with a voice activated remote which is nice. It would be nice if they included Apple mirroring for your iphone. It has chromecast which is very lacking in ease of use. My Logitech wireless keyboard works fine with it. Like a lot of remotes these days there are no number keys so you have to select OTA TV channels from a list or scroll up/down rather than just keying the channel in but the channel list is one keypress to bring up.
My previous purchases was a U7G. I was very disappointed in performance and quality and to find out the issue has been going on for 3 yrs was enough for me. I returned it within 2 days and got a this U8H. All I can say is wow pc gaming looks awesome! Under 120hz HDR. The only issue I see that needs addressing is text blur. This was fix on u7g with text clarity optimization option. Hopefully Hisense will add this option in there next update.
This is my 1st Hisense tv and I'm very disappointed. I bought ot Feb 2023 and now its Oct 2023,rarely used it and its dead already. We're playing Ps5 game and the screen went black amd it won't turn on again. In just 8 months not even a year.
The TV continually goes blank/black screen. I thought that it was the NBA app causing the problem, but my other TVs and mobile devices do not experience this problem while using the NBA app. Additionally, I have noticed this problem infrequently with other apps or with air TV. I called Walmart and they said it is past the replacement window because I got the TV on September 17th. I didn't get the TV out of the box until after a few weeks had passed so that used up some of my time. But as basketball season is progressing it is getting more annoying because I often must restart the app after one of the blank screen events. I think for nearly $1,000 I should have some resolution, but Walmart offered none. I don't recommend this TV and especially buying from the Walmart Marketplace.
