Used in a dark hallway to see and not kick sleeping cats and dogs when rushing around a corner. I had to add additional double sticky tape because it did not stick with the tape it was shipped with. No big deal but the motion detector did not work. Would stay on all the time even after long periods with no one walking down this hall. Hallway looked like a airport runway.

I grabbed two of these around xmas when they went on sale for $13. For that price, they’re great. They look best if you put them on an aluminum channel with a plastic diffuser cover to make them less garish if they’ll be located where the actual strip would be seen, but if they will be placed somewhere recessed for indirect lighting (under/over cabinets, etc) you can just stick them on. The sensor is located pretty close to where the lights begin, so hopefully your location allows for that position to work, especially since the angle the sensor is able to “see” is not very wide. And hopefully you like the 16 colors on offer on the remote - that’s all you get - and many of them (particularly the orange-yellow range) are really awful. The light is dimmable, but not by much… so don’t expect a wide range of light output options. I setup one strip in my kitchen and primarily use it set to red light for when I wander in at night to grab a drink of water. After a couple of weeks of use I’ve noticed a double flicker when the motion sensor activates the lights - I’m hoping that goes away and the strip doesn’t fail… The second I just recently added underneath a cabinet in my long hallway so that when you open the door or walk down that end it lights up. It’s kind of a silly use case but for less than $13 it was fun to play with.

I like the entire setup/design and it appears to be made of good quality. What I dislike and cannot believe its not noted here is the affect of the motion detector; distance. The sales pitch says it works great for stairwell.... Well, I have a 13ft stairwell and the sensor doesn't pickup movement until we are 2 or 3 feet from the sensor. The sensor is clean and mounted under a 32" tall handrail. If it were placed higher or more visible, it would ruin the appearance. When the sensor was placed on top of a seat of a chair, for testing, it wouldn't react until a person came closer than 4ft from the unblocked, unhampered, unobstructed sensor. Although this is a great device and price, I would not recommend it since the motion detection is less than 5ft all around.... That part sucks....

I guess I should not have presumed such a cheap product would be good just on the Honeywell "brand" name. This unit's motion detector works when you first plug it in, but almost never re-triggers afterward. Once it's in that indeterminate state, it won't come on again even if I change the switch between 60 seconds, 20 seconds, ON, or OFF. It only works again if you unplug it and plug it back in. I'm going to pick up a DC cabinet/jamb switch and wire it in, but I'll never presume Honeywell is any better than the other buying options out there.

Just spent two hours setting this up and, not only is the stick em less sticky than MUCH cheaper lights, after my efforts to get it right, DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. VERY frustrated and can not at all recommend. Buy the cheaper ones that actually work.

strip is too fragile and broke would like to return as it's useless

I'm confused as to why an abundance of people would waste (hard earned) money on something with such exorbitant pricing. I am sharing my thoughts here because, I would want to if a better value exists. For the price, it seems to be overly priced. I purchased 100 ft for $20. (Amazon) they have been used for almost a year and only a few have 'gone out' (example: will not change colors or will only be a few of the available colors) but they still are working and the few that arent changing they still are lit up. with DAILY use.. They connect to your Wi-Fi, phone, and have two remotes (if installed separately, its there to use) Check reviews on Amazon and select based on your needs.

Remote doesnt work and its the only way to control the lights. i tried contacting customer service to get a new remote. I received a generic response with links to articles that didnt address my problem. i then received an email asking if the problem was solved. i responded no and havent heard a thing since. dont waste your money

These are the worse set of lights I have ever bought. First off, it doesn't even cover half a room. Secondly, they don't stick even with added tape and, lastly the motion sensor didn't even work. Will never purchase these lights again. I never give bad reviews but this really ticked me off.
