Hoppe's Bench Rest 9 Copper Gun Bore Cleaner, Non Abrasive Formula, 5 oz

Oh Walmart.com... how I hate to write this review. My whole immediate family works in a Walmart store, and I am a long term Hoppe's user, since the 1970s. This item should be sold in store. But, it is not. Since it is not, Walmart.com should have made sure to ship a new and sealed bottle. This is also on Hoppe's. Their QA department should have checked better before allowing this out of the bottling facility. I have never used this newer non abrasive bore cleaner from Hoppe's, and at this moment, it looks as if I never will. I ordered it for delivery, paid extra over the regular bore cleaner, and was going to do a side by side comparison to see which is better overall. What I received was a box that had bore cleaner stains on the outside of the box. The bubble wrap bag, and the clear, thin plastic bag this bottle was shipped in was soaked with bore cleaner. The bottle label was so saturated that the label was illegible. This bottle has been leaking in this bag far longer than the time it was placed into the box and shipped. Whoever packed this into the shipping box had to know that the bottle had already leaked out. The smell and sheen on the bag are very big indicators. Now, everyone that uses Hoppe's bore cleaner knows that toxic odor. We know to use it in a well ventilated area and keep it sealed tight and upright when not in use. This was shipped unsealed, on its side, and my wife brought it into the house through our living room and into our kitchen placing it onto our kitchen counter before she realized the box was stained on the bottom. I immediately smelled the bore cleaner. It didn't take her long to smell it either. Now this isn't in a well ventilated environment or in the small amount I would use to clean a barrel. This was through my main floor and a quarter of the bottle. It was delivered on a Sunday, but my wife, instead of waiting to take it back on Monday, when she next goes to work, immediately took it to her store for return., just to get this mess out of our house. After over 40 yeads of cleaning firearms, I have never allowed that big of a mess with any of my gun cleaning chemicals, even storing them. If I can't buy Hoppe's in store from now on, I won't order it, whether it be Amazon, eBay, Walmart.com, or any other online store. I'm not taking chances of Hoppe's sending me a leaking bottle again.

This item was already opened, seal was broken and it leaked all over the bottle and packaging. Very disappointed. Request a replacement be sent.
