I do not own Nintendo Switch 2 and I am not planning to order switch 2 for awhile. I decided to order this for heck of it :) I tested this camera by plugging it to my android phone (pixel 8 pro) and my phone found it and I am able to see myself on the camera. the video image was clear and I can see my face clearly. I am going to test on my computer and laptop. it should work on computer since it is usb camera.
Camera video really great quality and very good focus me, once u closed the plant mouth and will be completely private.
for one thing the person who wrote the description for this item needs to include the resolution because I found out the hard way that this camera is 480p and not 720p. I tried to play the camera mini game within Nintendo switch 2 Welcome tour but apparently the resolution is too low for face recognition to work even though the 480p camera on the 3DS worked just fine for Face Raiders, which makes me really disappointed in Nintendo for not making this work with a 480p camera so now I have to spend an additional $54 for the official camera to actually be able to play that mini game. it's decent if you just need something to get by in order to use video chat with your friends online but not decent enough if you want to 100% area G of welcome tour. I am so glad this was on sale when I bought it, but seriously Nintendo, do better
It works ok and is fun, but the resolution leaves a lot to be desired. Super cute addition to my entertainment center though.
while the camera itself is built well and seems durable, it has very poor image quality. Camera only has 480p image capability and has a very narrow field of vision. Looks awful on a large TV. Barely usable.
It's really cute as an accessory, but the hardware itself it horrible. Reminds me of my webcam 10+ years ago. Would not recommend if you want a webcam for your switch 2.
Had it shown on the box the resolution is 480p I would have never purchased it. Immediately setup my return after trying it for 5 minutes. Do not waste your money for this camera. If you want a piranha plant sitting as a decoration, knock yourself out.
This is incredibly cute but much smaller than I envisioned. Unfortunately it is also a terrible, terrible camera. i have web cams that are 15 years old that are far superior to the video quality this produces. Disappointing.
If you're a little shy about your online interactions on Nintendo online, this might be perfect for you as you will not be able to see your face clearly across the room to save your life. I plugged this camera in expecting to be able to see my smiling face from across the room when playing Mario kart online with my friends and to my surprise, I was unable to see whether I had my eyes open or closed. The quality is a kin to that of a potato and you shouldn't expect anything fancy from this camera because it functions just as well it may be cute for its appearance sitting on my TV stand, but unfortunately, the quality is enough to make me question my sanity, and why I would pay more for a camera with less function you can't even update the firmware on this thing because it's not recognized as an official Nintendo camera save your money and buy a Logitech Brio WebCam instead, it will sit on top of your TV stand and plug into the side ports of your switch dock so that you can game without ridiculous accessories plugged into the top
The item itself is great. Just took a long long time after release to arrive, should've just bought it in store
