I havent tried the chili alone, but I absolutely love using it to make vegetarian Chili dogs!
liked this a lot, was good on my veggie dog. I didn't look at the ingredients, just allergens, butt it looks like there's tvp in it to mimic meat, and it was good. I just wish they'd included more, it's cheaper (God I hope) than meat so IDK why they'd be stingy with it
Most canned Vegetarian Chili's are generally not good and need lots of seasoning to make them palatable. This one however tastes great. It has lots of flavor and is convenient as it comes in a can. Only way to get better vegetarian chili is too make it yourself or get it from a restaurant.
I kindly received the product/service for free in exchange for my honest review. This has quickly become my go to chili for chili fritos. The packaging is very appealing. The Veggie statement is easily viewable. I was hesitant about tyring this one, as I am not technically a vegetarian, but this was great! It sure tasted great, which is good because I didn't know what to expect! I would totally tell anyone to give this a try, even if hesitant.
This chili has the best texture and flavor in my opinion. Beans keep a better texture in the can and the overall taste feels more balanced. Using this as the star topper for a loaded baked potato with your choice of additional condiments is delicious,
I try and limit my meat consumption. This chilli has plenty of flavor and texture. I always feel like Ill miss meat in dishes that typically feature it but that was not the case here. I actually used this to make nachos 2 nights in a row and with some shredded cheddar and sour cream they were bomb nachos. Im buying this chilli again for this specific reason. I prefer this one over their meat version.
Homeless Vegetarian Chili with beans is my definately top tier vegetarian canned chili. It's great for a quick and easy snack or toss it on a hot dog, burger or nachos and it's a gamechanger. I love how versatile it is. I will definitely purchase again!!!!
This is quite delicious, and near identical to the regular version! It has a great texture, plenty of sauce, and a good amount of flavor. Really enjoyed using this chili to top my baked potatoes with! Though, the only thing I felt was off to me was the noticeable aftertaste of the meaty morsels. The more chili I ate, the more I sensed some slightly chalky aftertaste to it. It's not an enormous issue, to be fair. Just a subtle hint the more you eat of it is all, and hardly a problem when paired with other food. Would recommend regardless!
We tried this as part of a sample campaign with 4 other varieties. Surprisingly this is the one we liked the most. While we are vegetarian and we love meat this one had the freshest flavor. The vegetables really stand out, it could use a bit more seasoning though. While I would consider this more of a southwest style soup rather than chili it is something we could eat again. Will we go out of our way to purchase it. Probably not, but it was the best out of 5!
I had the opportunity to sample HORMEL® Chili Vegetarian with Beans at the same time as HORMEL® Chili with Beans . When compared to the "meat" version of the chili. I found that the vegetarian version was more watery, and was less flavorful. Additionally, I have sampled other vegetarian chilis in the past and found this more water than those as well. I sampled the chili both by itself and on a cheese coney, and I found that the thinner consistency of the chili worked best when eaten alone. I did not enjoy the texture of the chili when eaten as a coney dog, and would select a different chili for that purpose.
