HP 256GB x900w USB 3.0 Flash Drive

They are selling this thing on its speed, but 13 hours (and counting, it's still not done) to move only 63 gigs is only slightly faster than a USB 2.0 external spinning 7,200 rpm hard drive from 2006… and considerably slower (by a legitimate factor of 10x) than a Samsung Amazon-Exclusive MicroSD v30 Evo card (FROM THE SAME YEAR as this USB 3.0 flash drive was assembled) that I was using before this arrived. Both used the same Thunderbolt 4 hub with all the bells and whistle's to accommodate the 4090ti railed to it, too… and I'm pretty sure it was helping as CPU and ram usage charted with the GPU/VRAM. The system stayed unused during the whole time, except to check on it about once an hour, which was a horrible all night mistake on my part thinking it should be done in an hour… over and over and over and I'M STILL WAITING! …Now, cracking from the lack of sleep is my fault and not a $10 USB thumb drive. I knew its speed claims were going to be the usual marketing blah blah nonsense going into it. Sure, it is USB 3.0 (which is still not a given in 2026 thanks to the MacBook Air's STILL purposely gimped second USB-C port attached to a 2009 daughterboard, Chromebooks, and AI companies colluding with fabs) but the NAND in there was whatever was laying around for some time before they realized they should do something to monetize their surplus. And even though it's STILL NOT DONE… I'd still buy that for ten dollars!

Inccredible price for a flash drive that performs as stated.

At this size and price it's perfect for the active student.

Great price...excellent item

This is a good functioning flash drive. I chose HP because of their long-standing, excellent reputation, and this flash drive is in line with their other products. It is very sharp looking, with a charcoal and blue color combination. It is relatively small in size. I've attached a photo of it in my hand so you can see how big it is. It transfers my photos and videos quickly to my computer and external hard drive. It is easily removable from my computer. It hasn't malfunctioned yet at all, which many USB flash drives do, so it's very reliable. I would recommend this flash drive to anyone who is looking for a low-key flash drive with ample storage. HP is a great brand for technology, and this piece doesn't disappoint.

My daughter has a HP computer so it's perfect that this flash drive is the same brand she uses and it's very satisfied with it. it has a cool loop built in so she carries it on her key chain and move files from her desktop to her laptop when needed or when we go away for the weekend. Nice product.

My teen can never have enough flash drives for school work, music , pictures so she was happy to have this . She says it has a slower transfer rate than others she's used but that aside it is very useful to her. Of course small and portable but that's a standard feature of any flash drive.

This Flash Drive does everything I need it to do at a very reasonable price point for HP brand. Set up is easy and it's been working fine. I hooked this up to my router as a readyshare drive. I give a 4 star only because it seems just a little slow, at times.

I like storing some of my more important laptop items offline in case something happens. I like the fact that this works up to 3.0, as mine is set for 2.0 and this flash drive adjusts accordingly. It not only works on my laptop but my husband's larger computer.

With the pandemic, I've been working at home. I recently have had to go into the office once a week so this drive has been so perfect. I attached it to my keys to transfer files from my work computer to my work computer. Works perfect to back up my files just in case something happens to my computer.
