I found it generally of good utility. I have found that there is always a problem when switching off to be energy conservative that the device wifi is lost. Also that the direct device wifi also cuts out the internet connection. It becomes a long drawn out process to jump between direct wifi mode and re-establishing internet connection. Recommend yes with improvements. Located in Victoria, Australia.

Loving this printer, especially now that I can print A3 as well as A4. Very clear, high quality printing. Easy set up and, so far, no wireless connection issues. I would highly recommend this printer for personal use.

I bought this printer about 2 weeks ago to replace my old 7740 printer. Very easy to set up and prints as a single sheet and on both sides. Print quality is excellent and fast.

I run a small, Art Gallery/Studio. This larger size is great for me to scan copies of artwork! Has done really good @ printing out flyers too! It's been my best friend since I got it (about a month ago) :) Would give 5 stars, but there's allot of features i haven't tried yet.

I've always used HP the only reason I got a new printer was that the load try broke and there was no option to replace it. However this printer is very slow with the connection and printing.. Wish I wouold not have spent the money.. :(

The prints come out okay, they aren't incredible, but definitely not bad. You can tell the difference between the sharpness of a laser printer and this with images. The issue is the software or whatever stops the printer from knowing which tray, what size paper and other print details. I've made tabloid prints that come out with no issues and then the next try will bring up print errors when there have been no changes made. Sometimes the tabloid prints come out with a ridiculous border and then the next one will come out perfectly. Sometimes it'll give an error that the paper size is wrong, but then a 3rd or 4th or 5th attempt will put out the print finally with no adjustments made. Overall, it works okay WHEN it works. In general, it works less than it works it feels like. I'm glad we still have our old printer hooked up for moments I need a quick hassle free print with no time to waste on troubleshooting or just trying over and over until something comes out.

I bough the HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e to replace my 10+ year plus HP Office Jet. Unfortunately I chose the Instant Ink option to try and take advantage of the advertised big savings on ink cartridges. BIG MISTAKE as you are effectively handing over control to HP of the product that you bought. My printing patterns are not consistent month to month which is what Instant Ink is based on. And now there is no way back. HP controls my printer. In my view the advertising by HP is misleading (I know shame on me for not reading all the fineprint on accepting the agreement). Sadly the HP Smart only supports a Windows environment so a lot of the features advertised by HP is not available to any PC running another OS. Based on this behaviour by HP I am actively looking at ditching this new HP Office Jet and switch to a printer brand that allows me to use the product that you bought in the way I want to that also supports a wider eco - system.

I had a Brother A3/A4 printer that worked fine but with only one tray so I had to keep changing the paper. I am printing more often and I have always like HP due to their sponsorships in F1 and the Spectre laptops but i bought this printer so i could have an A4 and A3 tray to simplify printing. Is there some dark magic I am not aware of to make it print in A3 from Tray 2 which i have set?

I purchase this printer and I didn't even use it for one week when it was already giving me issues with scanning and printing photos so I reached out to hp and they send a replacement, but the replacement now is not scanning so it's a waste of money in time

HP Officejet Pro 9730e, set up with CUPS/hplip.I bought this to replace my HP 7740, that has served me well. I immediately ran into issues with the 9730e. Unlike the 7740, there is no way in the menu to program the 9730 to shut off at a particular time. The power-saving shutdown option in the 9730 menu is automatically disabled if you have a wireless connection. The printer will not print with the Firewall on (the 7740 still does!) and there is no clue as to how to fix that.Worst of all, Tabloid/11x17 is not available as a print option, even when the default tray is set in the printer menu to #2, with 11x17 as the paper size. It is as though the setup is for a printer without 11x17 capability. HPCUPS shows "HP Officejet Pro 9730 Series, hpcups 3.24.4" In short, the printer won't print with the Firewall on, it can't be programmed to turn itself off, and it won't print 11x17.
