HTH Pool Care Chlorine Shock Granules for Algae Prevention, Fast-Acting, 12 pack

Very good shock that dissolves completely in deep end of pool. Each bag treats 12,500 gallons of water which is more than most 1 lb. bags. I like HTH shock but usually cost more than I like to pay but got 24 bags at special Walmart price.

HTH Shock is the best value for the money. Much less than the popular competitive brand, but does a job equal to or better. The individual packets inside are nice and full and the granules dissolve easily. An absolutely great product!

HTH Pool Care Shock is good but the HTH Pool Care Shock Advanced is even better and that's what I use. It cleared up an old in ground pool with a persistent algae problem and left no shock residue on the bottom like other shock treatments, Advanced rules !

I ordered because it has good deals, the box is sealed good , no damage, but inside the original box the pool shacks are missing, missing two packs , seller need to check before it shipping out

The product itself is fine. It chlorinates the pool, although it doesn't dissolve as easily as other shocks I've used. It actually has to be “stirred in” with my pool net. My main complaint about this particular order is that I think it's very deceptive. I noticed that the packets seemed smaller than the standard 1 lb packs that shock is virtually always sold in. Turns out these are only 13.5 oz packs, not 16 oz., so what seemed like a good value is just more “shrinkflation”.

This made my pool worse! I always use HTH products without issue, even with algae bloom. But this time was very different. Not sure how this is for algae, bought 12 bags and maybe 2 days in the entire time frame where algae was almost gone. Went through entire box and it did nothing, some days even turned dark green after adding it. Went back to my other HTH shock and worked Instantly. This is what I get for not just sticking to what always worked I guess.

I had a 36ft x 18 ft that I stopped maintaining mid-August and within a week or so the water had turned light green. I started shocking the pool with 2 bags at the start of the week. Added another 2 bags the next day to increase the chlorine level as the first 2 bags did nothing. On day 3 I added 4 bags, and then another 4 bags on day 4. End result was extremely disappointing. It did not get rid of the algae/green color. I've used the Advanced Pool Shock (same brand) and that is a much better product - like day and night between the 2 and yet the ingredients are pretty much the same. The only difference seems to be that the Advanced bags are 1lb whereas this one is 13oz.

THESE ARE NOT STANDARD 1 Lb size. Standard size is ALLWAYS one pound of treatment... These are much smaller and require many more to appropriately treat any pool. SLEAZY business trick! DO NOT BUY THESE!!!!

Seller opened the box and shipped only 1/2 of my order. It came in a brown bubble mailer. They refused to send me the rest of my order. Made me return it, rebuy it and jumped the price $12 more

I did not realize that pool shock expired and looses its potency until now. I kept wondering why I have been having to shock my pool 3x a week. I cleaned my filter and did all the usual cleaning but still went through the chlorine quickly.
