Intex Deluxe 800 GPH+ Wall-Mounted Swimming Pool Surface Automatic Skimmer

Inexpensive and it really works. A little agitated when setting up, just because this is my first ever. It doesn't really say much in the instructions. I just looked for videos and AI'ed it. If you have above ground pool with a sand filter pump and it has 2 B's, don't block one of the B's. Flow rate for the skimmer is the same. I put a netting inside the skimmer to catch everything. The fine gnats were slipping through. I also want to add, I feel like the pool expert lol crystal clear water no bugs or debris.

This skimmer works great. But make sure you order the skimmer socks to use with it. Or else you will be emptying debris out every other day. I'm afraid I'm going to burn my sand pump out because debris is passing through this skimmer to my pumps skimmer basket and almost clogging it. So definitely go ahead and get the socks, so you're prepared from the start of installing this skimmer.

Best thing I bought for my pool.

I have owned one of these in the past and didn't know I needed a bigger pump to get the maximum amount of intake, go figure. .. A word of advice take the time to set it in the water properly, this can get a little frustrating but we'll worth the 5 minutes to dial it in

I just purchased this skimmer and I love it! We have an intex 18x48 above ground pool and I was constantly having to use my net. This makes it so much easier for me, less work. It fit just right onto the side of our pool. Came with different attachments to chose from and test to see which works with yours. I would recommend this to anyone with an above ground pool.

The filters and such that come with your pool are fine for filtering the water itself, but the leaves, bugs and other things that blow into the water are not going to get filtered because the inlet is under the water line. Using the skimmer, it will pull all the floating debris from the pool very quickly. This model works even better than the last one I had as the middle ring floats perfectly so as the water lever rises and falls with evaporation and filling, the floating center keeps it right at the perfect lever for skimming the surface. As the title says, I won't have a pool without one of these.

We purchased a summer waves 18' x 42" easy set pool that came with a filter pump, vacuum, and skimmer with telescoping pole. We had an intex brand formerly that was almost exactly the same, same size, same set up, and came with the same accessories only the pump was a little larger and it came with a surface skimmer like this. I was unsure if this brand just didn't perform (as far as water circulation goes) as well as the intex brand. I saw the intex skimmer basket online and it was pretty inexpensive, so I ordered it and in a few days hooked it up and it has made a big difference in how clean our pool has stayed between vacuuming. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I used this on my Intex 14'x42" round pool. Very effective. I did however have to plug up one of the two outlet ports to make sure there was enough suction. I'm using the Intex 1600gph pump, so even with the upgraded pump I still had to plug one outlet port. Not a problem though. The skimmer catches everything on top. I would very much recommend to everyone. For the price and efficiency.

I would say a skimmer basket is a must have upgrade to the metal frame style pools. The filtration system they come with is lacking in a lot of areas. This type of skimmer actually catches bugs and leaves before they float down to the bottom of the pool. I also keep my chlorine tablets in the basket to be sure the chlorine is being distributed evenly throughout the pool water. I wouldn't want to go without it. Only issue with this system is I have a hard time getting it to stay installed on the pool frame upright. It always wants to float out a bit. I just have to go and fix it when maintenance the pool. Small annoyance, still worth having for the benefits and low cost.

Got to skim the surface of our stock tank pool. Clearly not the intended use (as smallest mounting bracket is still too high/big) but by using a clamp on the side, works well enough :)
