Hypafix is one of the very few medical tapes that my sensitive skin can tolerate. OTHER tapes will cause itching, rash %26 blisters. Also if left on too long, OTHER TAPES will take my skin off with the tape; whereas HYPAFIX DOES NOT. I also like that it has 'some' stretch, (but not too much); this allows it to conform to bodies more easily when wrapping, or say, going over a kneecap. Hypafix has great adherence, but comes off easily. However, if you are wearing a bandage long term, the skin can degrade some, yes, even to the point where it is easily torn away. In that case I place a very warm wet washcloth over the tape/bandage for a few to several minutes before I remove the tape and bandage. I became aware of Hypafix Tape when the VA Wound Clinic used it on me, and then supplied it to the visiting nurse. VA Wound Clinics are famous for knowing and using the VERY BEST SUPPLIES on Veterans. We heal faster because of these mercies. All that being said, it can be a problem to work with as it easily twists and sticks to itself, so WORK SLOWLY and CUT YOUR PIECES IN ADVANCE. If you have a large bandage to tape down, consider taping it down with small corner pieces first, before you use the large strips of Hypafix to hold the bandage on.
