Device is working great and being a first time user this chain saw was easy to install and use. Great machine and suited to my purpose. Although I received a unit that had an oil leak, Walmart promptly replaced my defective unit before I even shipped the initial one.
I bought it as an opened box . This unit performs great ; greater than my expectations. It cut big trees small trees effortlessly…I recommend this 120 volt unit for it small and light weight. I just cut and run away from the tree fall fast…I think that I'm gonna get a generator so I can take it anywhere…
We had a little trouble situating the chain for the first use, but after that, it's been perfect for our needs in cutting branches of an established tree. The mini chainsaws we had couldn't do that, so we purchased this .
had a fairly large job to do and the chainsaw worked extremely well. one word of advice. keep the chain on the fairly tight side from the start and you should be able to avoid it coming off the track.
This is a great addition to my tools set. Light weight and portable but firm and powerful, unlike other flimsy ones that I've used in the past. Perfect for my spring project to clear out the back yard. Can't hardly wait to get out there every weekend.
These machines are for light duty. After 15-30 minutes use they over heat. The chain needs frequent replacement. We are working on an extreme removal of excess vegetation that requires really good engineering. This unit appears to be not the one for that kind of job. Occasional use of 15 minutes or less? That might be a different story.
The saw leaks oil. Also, the safety throttle interlock (the one you have to push before pulling the trigger to start sawing) started to get stuck after three weeks of use. This results in an unsafe condition when the saw continues to operate when the throttle is released. Another inconvenience is that the saw requires frequent retensioning (in my experience) and the tensioning mechanism of this saw is somewhat tricky (in my view).
Motor is strong however the chain jumps off frequently %26 yeah its automatic oiling but it goes through oil kinda quickly %26 I returned it. I will say if your doing light stuff with it then it does a decent job however if you're buying it to use as a chainsaw well my opinion is you'll be disappointed with the purchase. If ya need a chainsaw buy a chainsaw %26* I would reccomend a stihl
I will be honest. The machine looks and feels great very sturdy. The only problem was it didn't work never turned on. So I can't really say how it operates on the cutting. I must also say Walmart has a very easy policy on return products. Just take it back to the store and they take care of the rest no questions asked. One thing I did notice while I was waiting on the line at Walmart customer service for the return I did see at least 7 return items from hyper tough. Kind of makes me wonder about the brand and if I ever want to buy it again.
I have only used this chainsaw twice and now I have to return it. After putting it together on the first day it worked great. After about 15 mins. of use it started running slower. To slow to cut a tree.
