Hyper Tough 18-inch Bolt Cutter TU10066B

I have an old mattress spring that I wanted to take apart myself instead of hiring someone to haul it away. Regular wire cutters were not up to the task. These Bolt Cutters are just what I needed to cut through the various gauges of wire throughout the mattress spring. Awesome tool!

I would have like the bolt cutter's blades to have opened a bit wider than they did, but I was able to cut a broken padlock off my garage with no problem. Even with my bad joints, it didn't take much effort to cut into the lock's shaft and slice it off. The Hyper Tough bolt cutter appears to be sturdy and it works well. I'm working on a limited budget and was happy to find a bolt cutter that I could afford for a one-off task.

I had a padlock with a broken-off key stuck inside it. It was a Master lock with a "hardened" clasp about the same thickness as a standard gym combination lock. The jaws of this cutter don't open as wide as you might expect but I was able to get it onto the clasp by opening it up pretty wide. On my first attempt, just using arm strength, I was unable to break it. But, I tried the next morning and maybe being cold overnight helped. But, I also changed my technique. I braced one handle of the cutters against what the padlock was on and then pulled down on the other handle with both hands. After a few tries, it finally worked but it was very challenging and involved a lot of grunting and swearing, admittedly. I would recommend longer cutters for such a job for anybody less bullheaded than me. Maybe arm strength alone would be enough with more torque from longer handles. This bolt cutter got the job done. It was so easy to use and cut with ease through the metal chain-link kennel.

I was not sure this would cut small/ medium size padlock. It handled the project well. For the price I was pleased with the quality. I have other Hyper Tough tools that have worked well for me.

They worked!! Bought this tool to cut wire shelving to size. I didn't want to spend much because I thought it would be a one time use. This 70 yr old lady zipped through the project in one day with this tool. They work so well I'll add them to my toolbox permanently.

Needed to cut the cable on a bicycle lock. The cable was pretty thick and these bolt cutters sliced right thru it!

Purchased to clip an old lock stuck on my childs bike (key was lost). Cut through the lock with ease. I was also able to lob off a screw that got stuck during drilling. Very handy tool

Purchased this item using in store pick up and did not notice untile after we got home that the product was used. The blade was damaged, but we didn't have time to take it back. it worked fine but the blade gets a bitpre damaged with each use.

I needed to take a lock off of my storage unit because I lost the key. I used to work in maintenance and operations for a school district so have frequently used bolt cutters to remove cut a shackle and remove a lock. These barely scratched the shackle. I was very disappointed with the results and I'm going to try returning them if I am able because they certainly didn't get the job done for me.
