Due to doing a lot of research and watching torque channels it met my requirements, being a working man with a family it made it where I could afford to get myself some well need tools for my garage
i wanted the 500 ft lb but could only get the 350 and I'm not disappointed. save the few bucks. this guy has some impressive power. sturdy little tool too. built to last in my opinion and I'm hard on my tools. if your looking for a good fair cost effective impact this is the one
so far it works very good. i took off 4 wheels but they was only 100 ftp. i like the buttons to adjust speed and it has a auto break away button. im going to get more of the high and mid torque ones later. comes with a battery unlike a lot of the harts tools. and a charger. you can interchangeable but i have to look up what brands work.
i only bought this becuase i saw this on the torque test channel and they were blown away of what it can do for the price also they use the tools to see how long it will take to break and so far i havent seen anything i am so satisfied....did my front brakes and this tool took of my lug nuts like nothing and the job only took 30 minutes to do
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a budget-friendly way to stop struggling with a lug wrench, this is a winner. It's a solid "weekend warrior" tool that gets the job done for a fraction of the price of the big-name brands. • Motor %26 Performance: The brushless motor is a huge upgrade for this price point—it's more efficient and should last longer than older models. It has enough "zip" for standard garage tasks, though it lacks the raw power of professional-grade tools for seized or rusted bolts. • Car Tires: For routine tire rotations, it works great. It zips off correctly torqued lug nuts easily. However, if a shop over-tightened your bolts with a commercial air gun, this unit might have to hammer at them for a bit before they budge. • Grip %26 Feel: The rubberized grip is comfortable and does a good job of soaking up vibration. It's well-balanced and doesn't feel too heavy in the hand, even with the battery attached. • Final Word: The included 2.0Ah battery is a little small for heavy work, and the charger is slow, but for driveway maintenance and DIY projects, you can't beat the value. Just keep a torque wrench handy for the final tightening
This compact is an excellent value for the money. Though the impact itself is not the best compact impact out there, its quite good and useful, and basically the least expensive offering for this quality level. Pros: torque is 350 ft. lbs actual and it is relatively small 5.5 inches front to back. Price is great. Cons: 2Ah battery included. A 3ah battery would have been provided a higher power delivery current, and this would have likely upped the max bolt breaking torque. But it only has a 2Ah. The included charger is quite slow. The charger is a slide over top type, with an external power brick rectifier and DC transformer. The power brick is only a 0.6Ah 21V output. The slow charger issue is mitigated if you own other new HT-charge Hyper-Tough tools that have a 4Ah battery that come with a better charger that can also be used on this 2Ah battery instead of the supplied charger. The compact impact with 4Ah battery actually works even better. (So if you are buying this tool AND one of the larger Impact wrenches with 4Ah battery they you can borrow that battery when you need extra oomph.) On the downside, 4Ah is the maximum sized battery in this line as of 9/15/2025. That is not a problem for this compact impact, but it can be for the larger impacts you might buy in this line. At really delivered 350 ft. lbs, this tool can be used to get lug nuts off cars, and most trucks, even when over-tightened (over-torqued) by overzealous (or sloppy) professional mechanics with air tools or powerful electric impacts. It can certainly manage most on-engine and brake caliper bolts. It is small enough to get into the space for a lot (but not all) brake caliper bolts and bays, allowing your to speed up a brake job quite a bit. (Or timing covers, valve covers, water pumps, oil pumps, timing chains, etc.) NOT enough for engine mounts or many suspension bolts/nuts. This can do a lot, and at a great price. This Hyper-Tough unit is only half inch longer and about 50 ft. pounds less torque with the 2Ah battery than the best in class. Yet it costs less than one fifth to one tenth the price without and with the battery and charger. The smallest units in class are about 4.5 inches, so this is not bad on length. It's good value per dollar.
While the tool works, and seemingly surpasses the specs, its lifespan is limited. Mine was used 4-5 times per week for roughly 4 months before the wiring caught on fire in mid-use. Could have been a fluke, but this was just my experience. Waiting to see if it will be warranted even having bought the 3 year warranty.
It didn't do anything. It just kept spinning over the bolts and eventually stopped and then wouldn't do anything at all for many seconds. Then, it would start rotating again, but once again, was just spinning over/around the bolts and not loosening or tightening at all. Even on a full battery. I returned it.
I work as a technician at a car dealership. This item is advertised with a breakaway torque of 350 lb-ft. Despite several attempts, it cannot break away straight, clean, ungalled lug bolts on a BMW torqued to 103 lb-ft. This item is unfit for its intended and advertised purpose. I bought this "impact wrench" after seeing it perform brilliantly on the Torque Test Channel on YouTube, but it does not come close to what was shown.
DO NOT BUY THIS TOOL! I purchased this item to use on my car. When the time came to use it it was out of the walmart return window but still well within the warranty time (about 6 months after purchase). The drill did not work. In the reverse direction it only worked in pulses and did not have enough power to remove even a hand tight bolt. Walmart would not help me and the customer service email for hypertough didn't work. Got the runaround from Walmart and now I have a $90 paperweight (bought an extra battery). You will not get a refund or replacement when it breaks within the warranty period. DO NOT BUY THIS TOOL! THE WARRANTY IS FAKE!
