I love this little hammer! It truly is just 8 ounces and both sides are useful for a variety of projects. IT REALLY is only 8 ounces, which is a wonderful feature for my arthritic hands %26 joints. The hardwood handle is easy to grip at every spot. It arrived coated with some waxy coating- all over. I jad to remove it because as it wore off, it left unwelcome marks on some surfaces. I prefer to polisg off the clean metal head as needed, rather than polish unwanted marks on hammered surfaces. I 've never encountered that kind of coating on any of my hammers, so removed it to my advantage. The coating doesn't interfere on the handle.
it's a hammer it will hammer things...
This hammer is cheaper than buying just the handle. Strange but true. Thanks, Mike
My daughter picked it out as a Christmas gift for my husband. He said it's great to have for small projects. It's a good compact size.
I LOVE this hammer and it's PERFECT for what I bought it for. I PUSHED a fully loaded tools chest with 15 shelves over and it CRASHED on the garage floor and I thought my hammer I Just bought and aside from a small ding it was Fine!
Its a good, lightweight ball peen hammer to have in the vehicle for light mechanic work. If the starter doesn't work on some of these older vehicles, its perfect for fiving it a little whack. If you know, you know.
Not a bad little hammer for under $6
Good balance and feel!
I have become very content with most of the hyper tough line at this point. There's some things I waste clear from and other things I would gravitate towards. This hammer feels a little too light, and slightly unbalanced. I do believe it's gonna hold up just fine and for the cost of my professional one I could order about 30 of these. This is a solid product for the casual. Do it yourself repair man
This seems to be a hammer made by people who don't understand what hammers are for. Newsflash: they're for hitting stuff. When you cover them in a thick layer of clear coat or laminate or whatever the heck you put on this thing, you end up with a mess of chipped coating as soon as you start using it. Utterly useless if you plan on using it to hit anything even close to as substantial as a framing nail. I literally have screwdrivers that would make for more solid hammers than this junk. The only redeeming quality of this thing is that they gave me an immediate refund no questions asked without me even having to show them any photos or return the hammer, which suggests to me they're fully aware of what absolute trash this thing is. Never mind the handle feels like it's made of compressed popcorn or something. Seriously, just stay away from this garbage. You'd be better off hitting your nails with the first rock you find. I have screwdrivers that would make better hammers if I turned 'em upside down. Photo is after about a dozen gentle hits tapping a single hook into a beam. The face of the hammer feels like rough peeling plastic. Might try salvaging it by stripping it with a wire wheel (that costs more than this trash hammer). Absolute garbage product. Buy literally anything else, broken chunks of heavy trash would still be a better hammer than this junk.
