AS A HUUUUGE FAN OF THE RED LENTIL, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Iberia Red Lentils 12 oz...YOU CAN NOT FAIL IN THE COOKING OF THESE....NO OVERNIGHT SOAKING, JUST A QUICK RINSE, SET TO BOIL, LOWER HEAT AND ALLOW TO SIMMER UNTIL SOFT...THEY TURN YELLOW AS THEY ARE COOKING. THEY GO PARTICULARLY WELL IN A SIMPLY CURRIED LENTIL SOUP...THESE SHOULD BECOME YOUR GO TO LENTIL. WHEN IN A HURRY ....YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMO

There are three things that set these lentils apart: firstly they cook in half the time of the green lentils.Secondly, my very fussy husband will eat these and ask for more.Thirdly the texture is very delicate and it pairs well with a nice mire-poix ,or a garlicky onion sofrit.I used Polish sausage to season them added a cup of Mexican salsa, Italian seasoning , and some potatoes,celery and carrots and came up with a delicious potage worthy of my French grandmother.

Iberia red lentils
For an easy main dish , side or soup . These dried lentils are shelf stable, cook quickly and get thick and creamy with a mild flavor that blends with whatever other ingredient you add.

So much better than I expected. I enjoyed them so much more than I expected. They brought back a childhood memory of my grandmother's vegetable soup.

Iberia became favorite
As with other products Iberia is becoming the replacement, I'm using more and more food and seasonings from Iberia, nothing to envy other more costly brands

Lentil skins within
We cook lentil soup to take a break from having meat, it's part of a staple food in our home. My favorite are the red split pea lentils, this was our first time having this brand it was a good amount for one sitting. Just not a fan of the lentils and how they were packaged and processed, upon washing and cooking there were lots of little dark brown skin pieces inside with the lentil most likely from processing and shelling the lentils. Not harmful but just not a fan.
