Product did just what is was supposed to do. Stopped a slow leak in the a/c system of my sedan. Easy to follow instructions made the job less than 15 minutes to complete. I did use the whole can.
Worked as advertised. Did the job. Cstopped the leaks. Did the job at 25% of the cost of the other brands. I would recommend this product.
Excellent
got an estimate (from a big chain auto centers)for $1240 to fix my AC issue . used this product with a r134 refrigerant 5 days ago and its been excellent ,very very cold air (saved $1230)
I have three older vehicles. I have used this product to seal minor leaks in the AC system on each. On two of the vehicles I have had to install a 2nd can two to three months after the first......and so far it appears the second dose did the trick. Regardless, it has saved me a lot of money in expensive repairs. If you are putting in a charge for the first time in a year or so......I recommend an oil charge as well.......to ensure adequate lubrication for the compressor. These are easy to install fixes and you do not need to be a mechanic. Check for YouTube videos to assist you.
I read the reviews here, and it seamed more positives than negatives. Bought it along with the cheapest r134 freon they had( hey freon is freon)! Put it in, let it cycle through the system, and then put the r134 in this was in the beginning May! It lasted all summer! I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again! I recommend this stuff over the "popular" brands because it works! I used a few of the other popular brands with no luck and over $20 wasted!
First Tried a can with r134a with a stop leak additive in it and it was a waste of $15. Then I bought this product, put it in the system 1st and then a can of just r134a and it is blowing cold now. Hopefully will do the trick for awhile. Wouldn't hesitate to use it again.
I don't know how much of the can I got into the system, because it was leaking at both ends of the hose that comes with it. It about froze my fingers trying to put it in! Only time will tell if it detects a leak and/or seal any leak I might have. The dye is green-yellow, made to glow with a UV light. However, it can be seen without the UV light, but probably not as well.
My 2005 Chrysler Pacifica developed a leak that over time got to the point where it would leak all the freon in one day. Used ID Quest A/C Stop Leak, it sealed the leak and the A/C system cooled great for one week. Then the Expansion Valve sealed shut. I am now back to square one, facing time and money for a major repair and needing to flush the entire system of this material. Maybe this works better for fixed orifice systems, but for me I took a big hit to the wallet.
This can is an oddity in California since usually R134a cans have a resealing valve not a puncture seal like on this can. Using a California hose the seal was successfully punctured but it didn't seem like any of the contents actually was going into the AC system. It did make a major mess with red dye leaking out all over the charging hose, trigger handle, and can, and dripping everywhere. Waste of $7. Not recommended
