Precise, durable, inexpensive, slim. I bought it on an emergency basis because the fancy one broke after a year. Then the next fancy one was defective. So now I am doing great with this one on a permanent basis.
It does its job. I actually like how the temp setting is displayed. It's more of a thermometer type display making it easier for me to read the temp setting. After having a stroke I lost part vision in my eyes, so the dials in the top, that are etched into the plastic in black. Are ridiculous to read even for the best eyes. This thermometer display version is more fisher price for us that need easy and easy to read ! So the fish get the right temperature.
It is a good product. I use it in most of my fish tanks.
it works the way it should, but i had an issue. i was using it with a tank of rams and dropped it.in the tank(oops) but it.killed all my fish by the heater.getting.too hot. when it dropped it turned it up. so just be careful. it was hundreds of dollars of fish.
I put the heater in on Wednesday evening by Thursday afternoon 7 of my cichlid fish were dead and by Friday evening another cichlid and 1 angelfish were dead before I was able to determine that it was caused from the heater. I lost lots of money over this lousy device. The thermostat on the device does not work properly and my fish suffocated because of it. DO NOT BUY!!! I wish I would've read the reviews before hand. My aquarium has been running fine for over a year this was the only addition made to it. Save yourself the heartache of having an aquarium massacre on your hands it's not worth it.
garbage. hard to read and 20 degrees off at least to my good thermometer. my house is set at 78 degrees. no submersible pump. heater off an this says the tank is 82 degrees. I can stick my hand inand tell it is off. Why did I pay top $ for this garbage. oh yeh, Walmart.
cheap piece of junk set it to 72 and it was 78° one of my fish and snail died then the light stays on but doesn't heat anymore after 2 days of use
Two weeks after purchase it's no longer heating. The light comes on, it just doesn't get warm now.
Will not hold temp
