Love, love, LOVE THIS SPEAKER!!! so portable, light weight, no cords, very loud! I bought it for me 10 year old son on Black Friday for $69 and now I have bought 2 for birthday gifts more for the price of $119 because they are SO GOOD!!! Very good speaker!
I plan on using this during the summer
I have been looking at buying one of these for a year, but couldn't justify the $119 expense. When they were on sale for $69 on Black Friday I was very tempted, but it was still too much for my family's budget. After Black Friday the price went back up to $119, then a week before Christmas they went down to $69, and a few days after that they went down to $49. I bought one immediately! Unboxing it showed it to be very well packed, with every part present and good instructions. The battery was almost fully charged already. I turned it on and paired it with my phone in seconds then played some of my favorite songs. This speaker sounds great! The music volume was very good, without harshness or distortion even at quite loud volume levels. The AM and FM radios both work but would benefit from a durable, removable, external antenna. I live far from the stations so performance from many radios is just adequate, not great. This device fits in that category. In a location that is closer to the transmitter/antenna I suspect that the performance would be great. Storing your favorite stations is easily done, and a very handy feature. The included microphone does what it is supposed to do. This feature may not get much use on mine, but I am glad it is included. The microphone feature also allowed me to play a musical instrument through the same input and that was an unexpected bonus. The display is easy to read and includes everything you need and nothing more. The controls are easy to use. I am so glad that I was finally able to afford one of these, thank you Walmart and Ion Audio
Great radio! Bluetooth works perfect! Battery last a long time on a single charge. Very loud and powerful! Microphone is an added bonus.
It works very well for 50 dollars. Bluetooth and a mic and the radio is a added bonus. Im very very happy about this purchase. I jist hope there is another one on tuesday after christmas. So i cam buy another.
Not as good as the original Tailgater! I bought this thinking it was basically just an updated version of the Tailgater as the specs and retail pricing was the same but that isn't true. I work in a loud factory and several people have the Tailgater units which work pretty good. They both have a bit too much base which causes the sound to be distorted with the volume turned all the way up but the new Gameday speaker is far worse! Even at 75% volume, the music sounds horrible. The Tailgater's volume can be turned up to just one notch below max volume before the sound is horribly distorted. I'm returning this one and purchasing the original Tailgater. One benefit the Gameday has over the Tailgater is it is easier to carry and is lighter regardless of what the specs state. Unfortunately the Gameday is slightly larger as well. I give the Gameday 3 stars because it is still a relatively good speaker for the money. It doesn't perform good at higher volumes but it is still very loud at even half volume and much louder than more expensive Bluetooth speakers I've owned in the past.
I bought this speaker on Thanksgiving of this year 2017. I was super excited because it was something I was buying for me, not my kids. Unfortunately, once the battery died it would not charge again. Won’t even work when plugged in. I had my husband check to make sure it wasn’t the charging cable broken but he tested it and there is power through the cord so there is something wrong with the speaker itself. Ion won’t take returns without original packaging but this thing had a 50 Hour battery life and I used it maybe 2 Hours a day so by the time battery died I had thrown original packaging away a long time ago. I’m very disappointed and I will never buy anything from ION again and I suggest you don’t either.
It has great sound, but after 3 months the battery will not hold charge. Very disappointing! As soon as I unplug it, its only at 1 bar on the battery indicator.
I have two other Ion speakers and I really like them. I wanted this one because it's smaller and lighter than the ones we have. I was excited to use it but right out of the box the Bluetooth didn't work. I tried everything and multiple devices. It also has an annoying hum all the time. I did play some music through it with the included cable. It is loud for it's size and has pretty good sound. If the battery lasts as long as it says then this would be a great little speaker. I contacted customer service and their only solution was for me to send it in to them. I'm taking it back and won't chance buying a new one. If there is a restocking fee I will be even more frustrated than I already am. It's too bad because ION was developing a good reputation.
Bought this a year ago. 2 months after buying, the bluetooth stopped working for my phone. 5-7 months later, the sound started to get patchy (picture extremely slow wifi sound). LITERALLY ONE YEAR LATER, not 15 seconds go by without the sound going in and out. I promise this is not an exaggeration. Pretty frustrated to spend another $125 for yet another speaker a year later (we perform annually).
