It needs a spray nozzle that you can turn the fan like the more expensive brand cans do so you can turn the fan of the spray vertical or horizontal that would then make it 10 times better and the overspray is terrible after each layer once it's dry to the touch needs to be wiped down with a tack cloth and sometimes rubbed vigorously but not with a lot of pressure just to rub the overspray off because if you don't it won't come out right it doesn't look right the overspray shows through because it's actually a clear-ish paint that's why you have to use black primary coat and the more coach you put on it the less sparkly and the less drastic the change and the lighter green it gets I like the darker green change to the copper but sometimes to get that wet finish you got to put it on heavier and then once it's light then it's just late unless you're going also if you make a mistake you wet sand it or you think you're going to just spray black in that spot that you had to fix that's a big negative you got to respray the entire part because of it being clear ish you can see drastic color differences if it's not all uniform I would not say that spraying the color shift paint would be for an amateur hobbyist I went to trade school to paint cars otherwise I think it would have came out kind of crappy just my opinion

Use a black base for beautiful results

Amber June 5, 2025

I used the Pink Champagne and Blue Cosmos colors on some Betta statues. You absolutely must paint it black first, I used the same brand of black primer spray paint. The Pink Champagne has less of a color shift and requires more layers to not just look like glitter. The Blue Cosmos color worked really well with even one layer but I used a few to amp up the blue. They blend really nicely together, but after trial and error I found it worked best to spray one color and then carefully add more black primer before putting the other color on.

Top coat. Adds chameleon shimmer, not coverage.

ELIZABETH May 6, 2026

This is not a standalone paint. Works best as a top coat for black. It's an extra layer that adds dimension and it's gorgeous! But fyi: looks transparent by itself. It's not gonna provide coverage, but it's gonna add an amazing finish to anything already painted. I use black, I feel like it would have to be a dark color to work, but I'm not certain. Spot test it on different surfaces/colors? It's phenomenal tho. 10/10

I used this to paint a huge planter in my front yard that I had first painted dark purple then went over that with the blue cosmos color changing paint. I love the result and I've gotten many compliments for it. it started gray/silver very ugly standing at 3 an a half feet tall about 2 feet wide and the rust oleum purple and blue cosmos covered it with one and a quarter can of purple and one can of blue cosmos perfectly. it's very pretty now I love it I'm very happy with the outcome. this product is easy to use and has great coverage, smooth application with no dripping. I'm going to buy more for other pots that are plain and boring now. beautiful color, smooth application. (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)

Awesome color shifting!!

Lola November 5, 2025

This paint is awesome!! You have to shake the can several times during application so colors blend and it comes out beautiful with great coverage. It's worth every penny!

Makes your project pop.

Al August 22, 2025

The paint work i did came out very well. It will run. It takes some practice to get the technique right. After you figure it out. The work looks great. I like a challenge. I enjoyed getting it to work. The pic don't show all the glitter. Because of lighting. It looks great in person.

I've bought several of these. I have figured out, it works best to not hold the button all the way. Holding it to spray mid way gives more glittery. Leaves a beautiful color. I have used it on hot pink and white. both look good. going to use it on some other colors in the future. will be buying MORE of this. I absolutely LOCE it.

Great color, has tendency to cause runs/drips

Dogmom February 8, 2026

Great color however a bit tricky to get even coverage when you get down to 1/4 of a can. Clear paint comes out and has a tendency to cause runs. Same thing happened with multiple cans. Spent a lot of time sanding it back off ,then trying it again. Be aware of how much paint is left in the can as you go.

I incorrectly ordered this color. I have requested pickup from home and just did again and this will be the third try. I just want my money refunded. Monday memorial Day is the next pickup " day". Good money is spent weekly if not daily from Walmart and it should not be this difficult to get a refund when I am doing what I am supposed to be doing. I just want my money refunded.

paint must have a dark undercolor first. Then you have to spray the color on really thick ( multiple coats) to get alittle bit of the "color shift" to work.
