Better than Hand mopping

meilin June 30, 2017

This is handy thing to have. Keeps from having to hand mop. Directions are very clear and easy to understand. Is written in English, French and Spanish. This little work horse has three different pads, one for dry sweeping especially before wet mopping. Another pad for damp sweeping and another for wet mopping. It is very easy to insert pads. Just slide one in and the Braava jet knows which one you inserted. It comes with 2 rechargeable batteries. I thought it would stop because the battery needed to be charged. When finished cleaning it actually goes back to where it started and turns itself off. It is amazingly quiet. Quite often I have to look for it because I can't hear where it is. Excellent for cleaning small areas like bathrooms. I have a 10 X 14 kitchen and it did a good job. Cleans amazing well but if floor has not been cleaned for a while I would suggest purchasing a cleaning solution available online. Just plain water doesn't always clean as well. I would suggest using a cup to fill reservoir as the opening is small. Best part-you don't have to touch the dirty pad. Just push a button and the pad is ejected into the trash. iRobot does a good job of designing their products. A lot of thought goes into being easy to use to ease of replacing parts which are available on their website. Since this product only comes with two of each of the different pads it would be a good idea to order more immediately. Attached is a picture of what the Braava jet picked up after my Roomba 880 vacuumed. It will loosen stuck on dirt and hair. If I used it often I would not have to hand mop at all. It is so nice to always have a clean floor.

super little cleaning buddy

2bras July 10, 2017

The Irobot braava jet 245 is an amazing little cleaning bot. It get into hard to reach places and it cleans superbly. I was a little skeptical because you only use water and no cleaning solution. It really does a fantasic job. It comes with 3 types of disposible cleaning pads. It uses 3 options wet mopping, damp sweeping, and dry sweeping. When you use the wet mop option the irobot braava jet 245 uses a triple pass cleaning pattern it has a vibrating cleaning head to remove dirt and stains when you use this option. I love this option because I don't get to mop as often as I want. this option thoroughly removes dirt and stains. When you use the damp sweeps the irobot braava jet 245 uses a single cleaning pass which requires less water than the wet mopping. It cleans dust and dirt. This is a great option as well. The last cleaning option is dry sweeping. No water is used for this option. The irobot braava jet 245 sweeps the floor and cleans dust, dirt and pet hairs. I love the irobot braava jet 245 it is my new cleaning buddy. I give it 5 stars.

Mopping to a hole new level

neverwrong June 20, 2017

First off let me tell you how easiest thing is to that with you got to put a pad and fill some water up and just hit clean and it does all the work for you . The best part is if you have kids or even you as an adult or messy and human and you how you how you spell something with this robot you can easily push a button and it will go clean up a little spill that you had on the floor this is definitely the sister to the Irobot if you don't have one I suggest you go out and get one today you don't understand how much easier it is to clean and it does Get the tough gritty dirt off the floors and the cleaning pads are not that expensive and so far the pad will last up too two weeks or even longer

Great value

Jen June 28, 2017

The iRobot Braava jet 245 mopping robot I was skeptical of at first. However, it cleaned the floors quite well. You fill the reservoir with water, put a mopping pad on and turn the robot on. It is very easy to use. You place it on the far left corner of the room. Press the button once to turn it on, and once again to start it off on its mopping journey. It works its way around the room. There are three different mop pads. The robot automatically adjusts its settings based on what pad you put on it. There is a dry clean pad with no water, a normal pad with moderate water and a deep clean pad with a good amount of water. I have found that with the normal pad, the floors are well cleaned and the floor dries quicker than if I had mopped myself. This is due to the fact that the machine sprays out a bit of water and then mops, instead of me trying to wring out extra water from a standard mop. It also saves me the trouble of having to bend over; the machine does all the work! I did some tests to see how well it worked. I mopped the floors with a standard mop and the floors took quite a bit of time to dry and walking on them I still had my feet dirty. Using the machine, if you walk barefoot, you can feel the difference as your feet will be clean. I run the machine every couple of days and it keeps my floors clean. The battery it comes with has a holder you pop it into and it simply plugs into the wall. My only complaints are that it is not programmable so I cannot set it to run automatically and that the mop pads are only one use. It is good for cleanliness to just be able to throw the pad away but I believe they have washable pads as well. You have to buy these separately. So depending on your preferences is how you view the pads as a con or pro. It also only does one room at a time. When it is done the room, it will return to its starting point. It will not go into other rooms, so you have to keep placing it on the far left of the room. It is a little inconvenient as you have to be home in order to mop the floors with the machine. Pros: cleans well, adjustable mopping "styles", gets under couches, no batteries Cons: not programmable, single use pads (have to continually buy), does not do multiple rooms

Braava jet won me over

Spooker15 June 22, 2017

I received this free from the Spark Reviewer Program. At only 7 ½ inches long, it's very small and can fit into some tighter places. It's designed for cleaning smaller areas of 150-200 square feet or less. It even cleans on dark floors. The drawbacks are, first of all, the size. It will only clean a small area. In my case, I was hoping it would clean my entire kitchen floor, but it only gets half way through before it needs to be recharged and needs another cleaning pad. However, to be fair, this machine was designed for smaller spaces and it easily scoots around the toilet and gets under the cabinets really well. Second drawback is the cleaning pads. There are 3 types of pads. One for dry sweeping, one for damp mopping and another for wet mopping. You only use water in the machine so the actual cleaning solution is in the disposable pads, which can be cost prohibitive over a long period of time. A package of 10 pads run about $8.00 and the owner's guide suggests you use the dry sweeping pad before using the damp or wet mopping pad so you can get any loose dust, etc. off the floor. There are reusable pads you can purchase that are good for 50 cleanings, but you won't have the cleaning solution in them after a wash or two. That means you are cleaning your floors with water only. We played around with the ‘virtual walls' to see if it works as well as it claims and it does!!! We set the virtual wall and left the bathroom door open. It stayed in the area we specified, so it's a smart little thing! At first, I was going to say I wouldn't purchase this on my own just to clean my bathrooms, but after using it twice, I have changed my mind. It does a far superior job to my mop. Since we have 3 bathrooms, I will be using it quite a bit even if I do have to purchase the cleaning pads. Giving myself more time is of significant value, after all. Would I recommend it? I would have to say YES. It really does a great job of cleaning. Just manage your expectations and don't expect it to clean large floor areas. By the way…the fragrance from those cleaning pads is quite nice. My bathrooms are clean and they smell so fresh. The Braava Jet has won me over.

Great helper

meilin July 4, 2017

I was very doubtful such a small thing could do very much. I was wrong. It is a little work horse. It was always very time consuming for me to mop the kitchen floor. Bathroom floor was always neglected. The Braava jet cleans stuck on dirt the Roomba will not. Using the wet mopping pad it does a good job. However an added cleaning agent would let it do a better job. I have a Roomba so instead of continuing to use the dry sweeping pad I just use the Roomba to sweep. If you don't have a Roomba the dry pad should be used to pickup loose dirt and hair. It does a good job. The Braava jet is very simple to use. It even knows which pad you have inserted. When done you just push a button and the dirty pad is dropped into the trash. The Braava jet follows a specific path to cover the whole kitchen floor or bathroom. The owner's manual has diagrams as to where to start the Braava jet. It can go around objects with ease. Two batteries and a charger is included. Very easy to insert the battery or remove. irobot has done an excellent job designing their products. Always designed with the consumer in mind so the product is easy to use from the beginning.

It is a tiny "robot".

Kin June 27, 2017

I tried it for one time so far and I would like to conclude that it is great for pre-clean and one will have to finish the job after. But it is great enough as I had one brand and that would not even did any! The size is small and compact enough. The battery life is good for about 2 hours in my job. It is quiet. I checked out the price for the ancillaries and it is fair. So, in my case, after a little party for my son, I will use it overnight until the battery dies, and finish the job next morning.

Helpful little bot

Jean June 26, 2017

Brava does a good job in the middle of the room. Does not get the edges or corners very well and won't fit behind the stools in our bathrooms. Takes a bit of time to do a small bathroom, but does keep running long enough to finish the job. Won't scrub up dried, crusty spills very well. Run it often to keep ahead of such situations.

Mopping iRobot

Eve2130 June 23, 2017

Based on my opinion, it can be better. For the little bit that it was on, it worked perfectly. My thing is it didn't even return to its starting position like the manual said...it ran out of water. It did revisit some of the spots it already mopped on...not sure if it's supposed to do that. It sure didn't take off jelly stains, even with using the mop pad that is supposed to work on stains. It does move a little slow, and keeps bumping into things...I know it's a robot. I just thought the sensors worked better than that. If I can suggest changes, it would be on the size (bigger), better sensors, hold more water, and find a way for it to be easily usable for the kitchen. My kitchen has 2 openings so it kept going to the living and dining area. I felt like the water it used to spray over there could've been used to really finish the area. Wouldn't let me upload video to show it working, one picture shows what it came with and the other shows the actual robot. *second battery is not pictured, because it was charging. Overall, I will recommend for smaller areas with one entrance.

It's a cool concept but...

AllTheGoodNamesTaken June 26, 2017

I have owned this for about a week. It is a neat concept but it doesn't clean stuck on stuff. It does a great job on the floor where there isn't a pile of dried goop. I had two spots of dried on ice cream on the floor and it didn't touch them. There is an optional washable microfiber pad that I am going to get to try to see if it cleans stuff like that better. It comes with a few different pads for different cleaning levels and they smell great! It doesn't hold much water but it doesn't take much. It decides how much water to use based on the pad that is inserted. I used the toughest pad that uses the most water to clean up the dried on stuff but it didn't take it off. It is a little awkward to fill because the fill spout is located near the battery so I was afraid of getting the battery wet, fill slowly! It also comes with two rechargeable batteries and a charger that plugs into an outlet. It is very easy to operate and very lightweight. It seems well built and durable. I think the pads are kind of pricey but I have used the same one a few times in a row and it seems to hold up so I don't think you have to throw it out after every use. Overall I was underwhelmed by this product (unlike the vacuum, that is awesome!)
