I've also never had an issue with moldy product and that has been the case on two separate occasions from other name brands that sell a similar product.

In the past I have found that that PRO-MIX seed starting mix is the absolute best, it has a really good weight to it and and the name itself is rated the highest quality. If you can't find PRO-MIX or you can't afford it I would go with Miracle Grow seed starting mix, from what I read they read almost as good as PRO-MIX. I couldn't believe what I saw when I opened this bag of Jiffy seed starting mix. It was like fluff, didn't feel like soil at all. And as I was filling some seedling pots and watering it it sunk to the bottom and I had to keep filling it again and watering it again until it came to the top rim. So don't waste your money on this.
