I get more and more gray hair with age, after having spent many years getting it professionally colored at a salon I could no longer justify spending that much. Tried different at home hair colors and even though end result was ok I would have a mess to clean up and even mixing them could be a long process, but once I tried John Freida foam hair color I was hooked. So easy and quick to mix and the foam was basically drip free and easy to apply throughout my hair. My grays were totally covered and color would be even, usually use a light natural brown so as it appears lighter on grays it looks somewhat highlighted and even healthier. Sometimes hard to find this product in stores so I order through Walmart.com, with my Walmart I get free and quick delivery and for under $12 a kit it is well worth it. Also would like to mention it comes with a moisturizing conditioner that leaves my hair soft and shiny, and it's enough for me to use twice a week for almost a month. Definitely recommend this product to anyone that does at home hair color but dreads doing it. This hair color makes the process much easier and less time consuming.
this was the first time I had used the John Frieda brand for my base color. it was extremely easy to use and I liked it much better because it is a foam. it cover all of my gray and I didn't miss any spots. it was the perfect platform for my base color prior to my having my highlights done. I would recommend this product.
This is the first John Frieda hair color that I used ,, but I'm so glad that I did,,it's worth the price,, thank you,,
I change the brightness of my hair, I improve its appearance a lot, it is easy to apply and it looks even.
Lovely color. Despite foaming and lather coverage was a little uneven. Although I left it on as recommended for gray coverage, there was still a stubborn area. Since there is no touch up kit from this manufacturer (that I could find), there may be longterm issues. We'll see. About to try touch up.
I had to switch from my favorite brand lately since couldn't find it stocked as well lately. This is a good product, but I didn't like the “dripping” foam . The result was a little darker than I wanted but that could be due to using it after a different manufacturer's product. My husband liked the color.
Only issue for me is that my thick hair soaks the foam right up and it is supposed to appear foamy. Even coverage is tricky.
I love this is easy to use and does make a mess as bad as the regular dyes. I have bought these for several yrs now. They are hard to find in any stores now. They also arent covering greys very well. Ive noticed for me to keep grey covered id have to dye every 12days or so. So if you are looking for something quick, easy sure. If looking for long lasting color then this isnt it. It doesnt make it two weeks. My roots are showing by day 8/9 and bad by day12 or so. It smells better than most(like walnuts).
I CAN'T write a review on John Freida Hair dye because the 2 boxes I ordered were MISSING IN MY ORDER WHEN DELIVERED.... I WILL WRITE A REVIEW IF I GET THE REORDER I PLACED ..HOPE TO GET THE 2 REORDERED 2 BOXES TODAY...JAN. 11 2026
Messy, it's difficult to distribute, especially to the roots. Very harsh, it damaged my hair. By far, this is the worst and it's not the least expensive.
