Authentic, Thick, and Easy-to-Prepare Udon Noodles! KA-ME Udon Stir Fry Noodles are an absolute game-changer if you love making Asian-style dishes at home without spending hours in the kitchen. They have a fantastic, thick, and chewy texture that absorbs flavors beautifully, making them taste just like what you would get at a great noodle bar. The preparation is remarkably quick and effortless. Because they come pre-cooked and ready to go, you don't have to deal with boiling water or watching a pot. You simply open the convenient pouch, toss the noodles straight into your wok or skillet during the last few minutes of cooking, and let them heat through with your favorite sauce, proteins, and veggies. They separate easily in the pan and hold up perfectly without becoming mushy or breaking apart. This 2-count pack is excellent for a fast weeknight dinner or meal prepping. It is a high-quality, shelf-stable pantry staple that consistently delivers an authentic, satisfying texture. If you love a great stir-fry, I highly recommend keeping these on hand!
one thing I don't like about some pastas and noodles is when they are too thin. I like to bite into some noodles that are thicker. and I like how I can flavor them as I like because these are not seasoned. I don't even have to boil them. I just cook some veggies in my wok and add these udon noodles when the veggies are almost done. don't cook the veggies to death. cook the noodles only long enough to heat them through so your noodles don't get overcooked and then become mushy and small like worms. I add a little mirin, soy sauce, toasted sesame seed oil, and hoisin sauce when almost ready to plate. adjust amounts to your tastes mix thoroughly and garnish with green onions when served. thick noodles that give you the freedom to add your own flavors are the best. I only wish they were not priced so high because I would probably be eating them at least once a week instead of how infrequently I settle for ramen.
These are wonderful and so much healthier than regular ramen noodles - with groceries getting so expensive, I can make a quick and nourishing meal using these noodles, frozen stir-fry vegetables and air-fried tofu (you can of course add meat if that's your preference). Add a little of whatever is in the fridge/cabinet - hoisin sauce, leftover sesame teriyaki sauce/marinade, or some japanese barbecue sauce; a little garlic, sesame seeds or whatever else looks good, and you're ready to eat in 10-15 minutes!
This was a flash buy that turned out to be one of the better noodles I have tasted from a store. Very easy and quick to prepare, adding anything to it will only make it better.
Udon 🍜 stir fry noodles are my go to meal when I'm hungry 🤤 regardless of the time 👍🏻!! So convenient to make in a flash in the microwave!! I can add anything I want and I know it'll be delicious 😋 and filling 👍🏻!! Yummy 🤗!!
Udon noodles are great, and these are convenient to store and use... however... they have some kind of lemon / sour taste to them. It taints the broth / sauce you try to use them with. I assume it's some kind of preservative that's leaving behind this taste. I can't stand it though, so I'm not going to be buying these again. If you can look past that, these might be okay for you. They're still a nice texture and it's nice that you get 2 separate bags in this pack to make 2 separate person meals with. I just wish pre-cooked noodles didn't need to have this sour taste that they always seem to have. It's gross.
Convenient when you're too tired or busy to cook. Good as stir fry or in soup. The only negatives for me is that the products are not labeled as Non GMO or Organic, as per the conversation when I called the company to require. Also, I don't believe the plastic outer bag is recyclable, and I try to be respectful of the environment. The weird thing, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.....is that when I wash the outer bag before opening it(because these packages get handled by many people, and I want to be sure that anything I put in my pantry is clean), after I dry the outer bag and open it to take out the inner packages(there are two sealed inner individual packages of noodles) the inner plastic bags are always wet, and I don't see any holes or openings in the outer package which has a notch to open it. The Udon noodles are a bit gummy and work better in a stir fry rather than in soup. The Hokkein noodles are thinner and better in soup.
I hated the way thickness of the noodles, and they were hard to break up with them being so soft. At least my sister liked them so they didn't go to waste.
The noodles were so big and dense and chewy and yet gummy at the same time. I did make them somewhat like the recipe on the bag which was not bad but I really did not like these noodles at all. They have no flavor and I guess I just prefer a thinner noodle because this was like eating limp drinking straws in thickness. I ended up throwing part of the noodles out as I just could not eat any more of them.
These were the thickest noodles I have ever seen - not what I would consider stir fry noodles. My hasband said it felt like he was eating worms and then tossed it out. My son (who loves asian food) didn't like them either. The sauce recipe was really thick, salty, and just not very good.
