Kaytee Pine Pet Bedding for Hamsters, Gerbils, Ferrets, and Other Small Animals

While there is some information critical of pine bedding, the key components to look for are a product with minimal dust and limited pine oils as both can be irritating to small animals. Pine bedding is often popular because it is soft and absorbent, perfect for bedding and as litter. It also helps to minimize odors better than other options for a habitat. Kaytee's version is a quality product for a great value that checks off all the right boxes! It claims to be 99% dust-free and is biodegradable. It also indicates being natural with no additives or artificial coloring. I'm comfortable with this choice for our class pet as we use it in a ventilated area and he seems to be comfortable as well as content with our choice!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this product before and the pine is pretty standard for my pet. Helps curb smells and is overall a good quality product. Not too tough either. Very usefully and lasts generally pretty long.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great Pine Wood Shavings. Really good option for chicken coop bedding. You absolutely need pine wood shavings, and not cedar shavings (cedar oils and scent can be toxic to chickens). For pine, larger flaked shavings are recommended because they create less dust and allow for quick scooping of waste. The aromatic oils which are natural in pine bedding are considered a natural insect repellent.

I was very pleased that there was a lot more bedding then the appears to be in the package it is very compressed. The chickens seem to enjoy it, and it is more reasonably priced than other alternatives, so I think we will be using it again in the future.
