I use muriatic acid on a regular basis for pool care. This time it was in stock…frequently it is not. When in stock, this is a good product that does the job and is priced considerably lower than another big box retailer. Please try to keep muriatic acid in stock, it is just as important as chlorine.
Product was great but box had gotten wet by something unknown and was placed in back of my SUV and when we took it out one of the gallons fell right through and hit the ground. I'm glad it hit dirt because if it busted that is acid and highly corrosive
Walmart has the best price for pools chemicals. I will definitely recommend this to all may friend who has Pool. Their product. I compared to some of the stores and they have the most reasonable price in all Pool Solutions. I'm glad I am buying all of my my solution for my pool at Walmart.
We recently started taking care of our own pool chemistry and after exploring several options, this product is much more economical than buying from pool companies. We also purchased accompanying liquid chlorine from Walmart.
This is a diluted Muriatic acid for adjusting pool pH. It should be safer than the concentrated ones. Walmart's price is good, and I had free delivery to my house with Walmart's membership that saved me a trip. Works great.
As compared to the Muriatic Acid of 31.45% that can be had from Leslie's Pool Supply the Kemtek Acid is actually more expensive when comparing chemical per ounce/gallon.
Muriatic acid and chlorine is something I put in my pools weekly. I use chlorine tabs to add chlorine but they don't make acid tabs so this is the next best thing. Keeps the Ph in balance.
We had three boxes (six total bottles) delivered. It shows on the boxes to keep them upright or else they may leak. Sadly, two of the boxes were delivered in an opaque plastic bag, and were left on our porch lying down. And yes, they leaked, so muriatic acid was all over our porch and two of the three cardboard boxes were soaked with acid. Truly a dangerous mess to clean up, but fortunately I was able to pressure wash my porch before the acid started etching my concrete. The product itself is fine BUT I don't think that containers of ACID should leak no matter how they're shipped! In fact, under the caps they have a metallic seal hot-stamped onto the mouth of the bottle... so they really shouldn't leak. On two of the three bottles I've opened so far, the little plastic tab that helps you remove the metallic seal tore off without pulling off the seal... so I had to go get something to pierce the seal and tear it off. Grrrr. But this product was about 1/3 cheaper than other sources of this common pool chemical, so I'll continue to buy it (but maybe not have it delivered).
I've been using various brands of Muriatic acid and this one did not meet my expectations. Generally it lowers the PH within my pool pretty quickly and I barely noticed a difference outside of the fact that usually Muriatic acid is colorless and this one is yellow? My guess is that is due to the iron content within it. Usually I would not care but if the iron is preventing the Muriatic acid from doing its job and lowering the PH something needs to change. I would not buy again.
Beware, this muriatic acid is diluted at above twice the rate of the other products on the market. I tried to save money by purchasing this but since it required twice the amount, I didn't save anything.
