If you read all the labels on the different canned chicken brands, this is the most natural one available (that I have found). It only has two ingredients- Chicken and sea salt! The chicken is fully cooked, so it can be used right out of the can to make chicken salad, or can be used in quesadillas, made into bbq chicken sliders, or anything else you can think of. The chicken lasts for years, so it's also a good "emergency" food to keep in your pantry, When you open the can, dump the chicken into a bowl, and use a fork to break it all up. It will be like shredded chicken. The texture and taste is exactly like home made. It does not have any added flavors, preservatives, or spices... So you can add all your own flavors to it. Great product!
Unused to eating canned meat so I had to overcome my negatively about canned meats. Often there's additional fat included in the can which I'm unaccustomed to seeing. HOWEVER, glad I used the chicken in a chicken stew and was pleasantly impressed as the meat was just as if I'd cut up chicken breasts or thighs. No difference. Saved me time really so I do recommend Keystone beef and chicken. Haven't tried their ground beef yet but am now open to canned meats. Sounds weird, but I'm a convert.
I love Keystone canned meats. The ground beef tastes great and before my last shipment had just the right amount of fat that was in a chunk and easy to take out. I noticed the last 2 cans had more fat and it was more liquid in consistency so I'm not sure what's going on there but hopefully it's temporary. I actually got the ground beef by mistake when I bought it but I fed it to my dogs too and now I prefer it. I also feed it to them because I don't trust dog foods. Terrific product.
VERY DELICIOUS. LOW SALT. NO ADDED CHEMICALS. BROTH MAKES GREAT WHITE GRAVY. EXCELLENT FOR CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICHES OR CRACKER DIPS OR SIMPLY EAT AS A SIDE DISH LEFT ALONE.
Rinse can product and eat after heating for all Keystone products. Do not taste fully cooked or you will get diarrhea. Real meats and chicken. Excellent quality meat long expiration date for preppers.
it's like canned chicken, basically like great value or any other canned chicken that I've tried in the past, I wouldn't spend the extra money for it though
Great-tasting low-sodium (100 mg per serving) canned chicken with no preservatives. The only ingredients are chicken and sea salt. It is a good value for the price, too.
I was looking for a more budget friendly replacement for Wild Planet Organic Canned Chicken No Salt Added. The Keystone comes as close as possible. PROS: Good flavor and texture. Only two ingredients (chicken and salt). No strange ingredients (no Phos or EDTA). CONS: Tastes much more salty than the nutrition indicates ...100mg/2oz. serving (even after draining and rinsing). A 14.5 oz can only contains 9.2 oz. of chicken.
this product earns a solid "c" grade. it's rather dry in spite of bring packee in water/broth. the great value chicken breast is better, and even in the single servings cans, iis a better price. this Keystone product is better suited for soup or pot pie than eating.as is, or in chicken salad. it's okay, not great, not bad.
About recommending...yes and no. So disappointed in this particular order. While the box was unscathed upon delivery, cans inside significantly dented which indicates to me that the issue is with the supplier at time of packaging. 2 of 3 cans are so dented to the point that causes me considerable concern in storing in my emergency stash. 3rd can is dinged with a bit of a dent under label where I cannot assess. I've ordered other Keystone canned products for emergency stash and they have been delivered just fine.
